I am playing with blues singer Julie Black in a jazzy blues type band. This was a 2 day festival, and the headliner was Derek Trucks. These are from our set, with my HH-equipped scalloped neck Silo Special.

Looked cool on the giant jumbotron screens too!

Any close ups of that scalloped neck and HH's?

These are the pics I have online so far:

I really like the HH configuration. I think originally, EB/MM were supposed to make 'swappable' pickguards (according to an early review I read) with different pickguard configurations. Dunno if they ever came out with any, so I made my own. I have the original HSS guard loaded and ready if I need that sound again.

well, mostly it forces a lot less motion in the right hand. You basically touch the string, barely press and you get a note. Bends are a lot easier because you don't have wood in the way. You can also bend by pressing the string down, which, if you play heavily, will bend chords out of tune. I really like it, although I can understand why many players don't. I play very lightly though.
I got into the scalloping thing from John McLaughlin and Ritchie Blackmore, though the Silo Sp is the only scalloped guitar I own. I didn't do it myself- I sent it to someone who knew what they were doing, and he did a great job.

Thanks, Dave. Pretty cool. I'm surprised you didn't use a Silo rather than a Silo Special for the HH, since it's already routed for buckers. But, whatever works.

Its the fret count, really. The neck pickup, which I use most of the time, sounds a lot better to my ears on a 22 fret neck.

I hear you on the 22 fret neck p'up advantage.

Just curious if you've spent much time with the stock single neck p'up on a Special? My favorite of all time.

Btw, enjoyed your Shiva cut. Only one I've listened to so far.

Thanks for the kind words!!

I like the neck single on the SS- probably my favorite single coil sound. I am just in a humbucker phase right now. I have mine wired like an Axis SS, so I get some SC-ish sounds out of this one.

Here is another pic, and I may have a video of 1 song from the show soon, so you can hear it.
