I hope to get some pics today of our Worship team and the Bongo in action........

May everyone have a Great Sunday and enjoy a tremendous outpouring of the Spirit in your worship and praise to Him with whatever kind or type of instrument you may be playing.

It's all about Him anyway......:)

Well the Bongo did it again. It seemed a little off when I first got there but after a little tweaking of the amp EQ I had dialed back in and it sounded superb.

What a great Bass. I wish I had the Bongo back when I was playing Blues. I would have played Bass instead of lead.

Man what a Bass..........:D

You bet bro. Our church as several pro photographers that take awesome photos every year. I'll get some up as soon as I can. Our normal congregation size is 800 to 1000 max. Easter service is our annual big thing we do. We try to invite as many people as possible.

With all do respect to the Stingray, I have owned a couple and prefer the Bongo for it's big thundering low end. I've played P Basses for years and the Bongo comes closer to the tone that I hear in my head or what I need to sound like. Our Worship leader, team members, and especially the drummer love the Bongo tone for our style of music and worship.

What it all boils down to is you have to find the instrument and tone that makes it happen musically for you and your style........

Well I had to play all 3 services this weekend so I gave the Bongo another shot. I have to say, it did much better this time around for me. I gave it a slight treble cut, a slight bass boost, rolled about 75% to the bridge pickup, gave a slight boost to the hi and lo mids and wallah, I had my sound. It sounded like a Stingray on steroids.. very nice. At church, I use an Ampeg SVT4 Pro and SVT 810E cabinet, the amp is set completely flat. Excellent performance. I plug the bass directly into a DI and then the parallel out goes to the amp. The sound guy said it sounded great. We stand on these platforms so I had the bass sitting in the stand during the sermon. They videotape the service and show it on two big screens so whenever the pastor would walk over by the guitar and bass platform, the Bongo was proudly on display on the huge screens, it was kind of cool.

Our church is about 7,000 people. We have 20 QSC power amps pushing various subs, midrange and high end speaker configurations. I think we have 4 subs under the stage. The frontline (singers and piano and keys) use in-ears, the rest of us use wedges.

Our auditorium only seats 300 - we are currently at three Sunday morning services. The PA is not extravagant: 15" subs on the floor level, overhead cabs w/ tweeters, stage monitors, 24 channel board. The drum kit is inside a plexiglass booth and the electric guitartists' amps are inside an amp pit near the back center of stage, it's got a lid that we leave slightly open for stage monitoring. Overall the stage is only 14' deep by 40' wide. You can catch live services via streaming video every Sunday at 10:30am EST - Calvary Chapel Sarasota

The Easter service won't be broadcast as it's outdoor and the internet cameras are permanently installed inside! ;)

Peace,
Brim

500-600 per svc. 4 services this weekend. 2x18" subs under the stage, multiple array (spg?) cabs above, 32 channel board and Aviom in ear monitors.............NO bass amps on the stage:(
Looking forward to seeing everyones pics of their rigs and stage setups.

Ugh... How is it playing solely through in-ear monitors? I would imagine that it could be challenging. Luckily I found two 4x10's in the church storage, so with my LMII, they provide MUCH monitoring volume.

In ears are the stuff! I used to go through my SVT4 Pro into a couple 4X10s, but now just send the signal through the SVT4 Pro wet directly to the house. Our Church runs 500-700 average and the band uses Avioms. It's nice to be able to create your own mix instead of relying on the sound monkeys to send you what you need.

Try it! Seems like sending a wet signal from an actual bass head gives it more depth. I'll bet you'll dig it!
