Oh my.

I suppose the early bird gets the worm. Look at you jumping on this thread!

I went to bed last night with a feeling of encouragement, because I thought I phrased my excitement fairly well without sounding overbearing or over the top. I had some Musicman dreams though. They were bound to happen, since it was literally all I thought of yesterday. I must have exchanged twenty private messages about it, and everyone at work knew about it, and my mother knew about it... and the smile on my face suggested something was up.

I woke up this morning a little slower than usual. I was a little groggy from the get-go, feeling that I could have slept for another day. Rather than check the old forums like I do every day when I wake up, I decided to just get ready and go to work. It is cloudy and foggy outside, much like my mood was.

Then I read the forum. While trying to retain some kind of masculinity in this, I actually teared up. I'm not kidding. Reading that not only the JP6, but the JP7 AND the BFR JP6 are being made... I am overwhelmed. I am beside myself with joy. I don't even know what to do.

I bought a stupid Ibanez because I wanted twenty four frets on a guitar with a nice tremolo system. In purchasing it, I told my friend Dylan that as soon as the JP6 was available, I would sell this stupid guitar. It was admittedly a substitute for the real thing. I believe I told Beth via email and a few other people. When I said I am going to sell all of my humbucker guitars for a JP (or 2!) it wasn't to try and appease or impress anyone. It was because this truly is the completion of a dream. I have the Silhouette Specials for my single coil blues work, and officially the JP6 will be my Paul Gilbertesque rock/metal guitar.

While I'm sure this was a decision made to please all of the left handed players out there, I consider it a personal win for me and feel indebted to the powers that be. That power is obviously Sterling. I have your back any time. I also have the back of the company, the product and the staff. You've all been so good to all the forumites and the supporters of the product over the years. Need a backrub? A car washing? Anything you need, I'll be one of your go-to guys.

Yesterday, with the announcement of the guitar being put into production is one of the happiest days of my life. It has been put in every calendar I own with the label "the realization that dreams DO come true".

I may be a younger guy, but I am an old soul and am as passionate and committed about all of this. This isn't a show. This is me, admitting I got teared up for some guitars.

I will take the Mystic Dream one and the White one. I'm probably going to get a BFR after that. Money is there solely for me to buy guitars, as everyone who knows me knows. I have my dream amp, and am almost done with my pedal board. Now it's time to throw some more money at the company. This is the best I can do right now:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

As an afterthought on all of this, I just want to add that this was the furthest thing from my mind when I posted my defense for Sterling and the company. I had actually given up on secretly pining for the JP6, and had permanently put it in the back of my mind. Having the reply to me doing my duty as a supporter and permanent customer made me the happiest person alive yesterday. The happiness of today's announcement doubled yesterday's happiness. Oh man oh man oh man oh man

Jeez BP - that is an awesome gesture on your part.
The production setup cost must be astronomical!

I tip my hat to you Sterling - I hope the word is spread about the magnanimous attitude diplayed by the Ernie Ball company,

I thought that I was , and now I know it ,"I am a fan of this Company for the rest of my life".

I feel all warm inside and so happy for the lefties who have hankered for a Leftie JP.
Awesome, just awesome!!

Just a thought...

With all the excitement going on, it is so hard to keep the smile from my face!

I've been thinking about it, and want to try and push to get the first left handed JP6. I got really excited over ordering a left handed Bongo bass, but decided that plan is simply not in the cards with this JP6 news. I kind of wish I could jump on one of the LE08 models, because that sequoia finish and the gold hardware blows my mind.

I think the news is just stellar, and look forward to having the best left handed humbucking guitar in the world.

I love this forum and this company.
I am left handed (but learned to play the guitar right handed)

Growing up I was fully aware of the plight of lefties (scissors, baseball, etc.) I too became ambidextrous at most of these things. I salute the company for these offering these exceptional guitars to all!

Actually, based on some research I have conducted, I think that I have figured out what has made this all possible.

The Ernie Ball Company has done their research and have bought the following device:

http://www.lumberinversion.com/woodinverter

What it does, is that it takes right handed wood, and manipulates the proper variables to invert it to left handed. It's a space age technology, and very few companies have it. I think that it was developed by Robert Engels... German fellow. He also created the transmogrifier and the conductoray. Neither caught on, despite a short-lived advertisement in the beloved comic Calvin and Hobbes.

If we're all very lucky, we'll see some comment about it on the BFR blog in the near future. Until then, make sure to check out the link and post what you think!
