Not necessarily one of my "favorite" basslines, but undeniably cool. Shoulda known this was a Ray, but I probably haven't even heard this song since before I started playing bass. [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMenB9Ywh2Q"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

That is indeed a classic.

'Rappers delight' by the sugarhill gang...what song is that bassline from originally? (sounds bernard edwards to me)

A Wilhelm Scream: "Jaws, 3: People, 0" or "The Horse". Look 'em up! All SR4. Brian Robinson is a monster.

And Flea. I couldn't resist posting this. We've all seen it and most of us love it:

Seen him twice live and I hope to see him again before the chilis break up. His EBMM days were definately his best on TRHCP, Freaky Styley, Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mothers Milk and One Hot Minute.

Jessie's Girl?

My wife made me sit through an A&E Biography on Rick Springfield. His bassist was playing a sunburst Stingray on Jessie's Girl. I don't know if it was used on the actual recording. That was the only interesting thing about the biography.

I like the bass part for Live's "Iris". Their bass player used a Stingray on all/most of "Throwing Copper".

That bass player is selling a pre-EB SR on ebay right now.

How about any of Lonnie Turner's stuff with Steve Miller.
Subtle, in the pocket, memorable, booty shaking stuff with killer tone!

I didn't see any Cliff Williams Love here and with the recent AC/DC release I thought I'd throw his solid (lock with Phil Rudd) rock out with a pick lines in to the thread mix. :D

True, not played on a stingray, but sounds better when it is IMO:

We're playing that in my band now, and it sounds super awesome wicked cool. Love that tune.

That is true, but I believe he used a 70s fender P in the sir duke recording. Either way, great tunes!

Late to the party!

Zombie by the Cranberries was a nice bass tone, not really a line...

the bass in the video is a 'ray, pretty sure. Don't know about recording.

Jamiroquai's runaway also sounds much better on a 'ray, imo.
