...but I just might.

After going completely Bongo the past couple of years and playing flats on all of them, I've had my Sterling strung with Slinkys. I pick it up every now and again in my practice room and think to myself - "I'm missing that round-wound zing"...

Then at rehearsal this past week I wasn't getting the "edge" I was looking for out of the HH. It's my new number one, but suddenly I felt like I wanted more pop with my thump. Tweaking my EQ gave me a bit more, but there was something missing...

Slinkys went on last night and they're feeling fine - I have a gig this Saturday and I am looking forward to unquestionably owning my part of the frequency range! ;)

To be honest I love flatwound strings, but HATE them on my SR4. Yuck yuck yuck.
I have my Ibanez RD300 strung up with Fender Flats and I love it to death. :)

My favourite strings for my SR4 are D'Addario XL's. Used to be a die hard Slinky fan but picked up a pack of XL's when my local store had no Slinkys, and found out I actually like them a lot, lot more. And they are much cheaper as well! :D

I only use flats on a P bass. Just great. Oh yeah and on fretless, but thats different.

Otherwise it's DR fatbeams.

I had a quick practice with my guitarist yesterday - the HH w/ Slinky's was addictive!

Might just be a keeper... Flats might go in the closet for a while.

Saturday will be the full-on test. We're doing a back-yard BBQ party and I'm looking forward to rock!

I'm certainly diggin the flats I put on my buttercream S/R 4. Warm, Phat, and I love the way I can slide into notes. Almost makes me want a fretless.

And then I pick up my 30th with rounds.........

I'm with you dude...my '88 SR4 came to me strung with flats and no matter the situation, I could never get them to work out...i'll take round wounds any day...

I love flats on my new Sterling 5. I played my first gig last night with her strung up with flats and man I was loving the thump! I think I'm slowling moving over to the flat side. ;)
