After going completely Bongo the past couple of years and playing flats on all of them, I've had my Sterling strung with Slinkys. I pick it up every now and again in my practice room and think to myself - "I'm missing that round-wound zing"...
Then at rehearsal this past week I wasn't getting the "edge" I was looking for out of the HH. It's my new number one, but suddenly I felt like I wanted more pop with my thump. Tweaking my EQ gave me a bit more, but there was something missing...
Slinkys went on last night and they're feeling fine - I have a gig this Saturday and I am looking forward to unquestionably owning my part of the frequency range!
