When is the silhouette BFR coming?

I've been gasing for a BFR JP for a long time but I might have to pull the trigger and get one of these instead

Here's how it goes for me. My first ball was a JP6. This sent all the rest into cold storage. All my Ibanezes, all my Fenders (MIA and Custom Shop pieces), even an Edwards LP. Then the 20ths came along and retired everything (including the JP6). now the SS has retired almost all my other balls (even the AL). So, the main 2 key guitars I always have within an arm's length are the SS, and one 20th.

I'd jump on a Silo any day, be it BFR or not, 20th or not, SS or 24 frets.

Yes, I'm a Silo Whore... Heheheheh...

It's not THE bfr silo. It's just one special edition Silo they happened to make that carries the bfr name, due to it's rarity and appeal I guess. I don't think they're taking orders for that yet.

No, this is A BFR Silo. You forget what the BFR tag is meant for. Special run guitars where previously only friends and family members of the Ball Family had access to. So, having said that, the Global Warming and Mr Horsepower are probably considered BFRs in a stretched sense.

So, if this Gold Silo with mini humbuckers was made for anyone of the BALL Family's relatives or friends, then it is a BFR for sure.

But I do get your point, that this is probably a one-off. But it has every right to the BFR tag...

Don't want to disturb the discussion about the goldie (cool guitar, but I don't dig the looks at all) - but still...

We've seen 2 BFR silhouette models so far (Goldie and the 20-th silo - it is a BFR even if no inlay says so), and none of them was equipped with single coils. And that on a guitar model, that has always been well known for it's in-between-position quack, on a "strattiest sounding strat" (I've read it somewhere about the silo special). I still don't get it...

Does Big Poppa not love the single coils any more? Or is there a fear that an SSS silhouette BFR would be the end of the Albert Lee BFR?

There is no such thing as the end to an AL BFR, and I dont think it has anything to do with BP specifically liking hummbuvkers more than singles. It is what they decide to make in a very special way. They have done SOOO much already in the past few years that many other companies only dream about. The BFR Silo Special will come one day .

I'm loving that middle position on the 20th... Nice full quack to it... Especially on a hardtail with PAF Joes and FREDs...

But having said that, I'd live to see a single coil equipped Silo Spec BFR. Something akin to the Pensa Suhr MK2 model. Without that carved top.

Well, I also absolutely love the quack on the 20-th, especially if You roll down the volume a bit ... it's heaven.

BTW, I've just bought a little something of the Evil Bay - I thought after having bought two of the 20-th silos I might as well try to find a "0-th silo". And here it is - a 1987 Silo SSH hardtail, body from 1986, with that weird Schaller roller-stoptail bridge and original Schaller Pickups that look like EMGs. Here is a link, if anyone is interested:

The 20th is a fine axe indeed and is capable of great tones, but the silo special or AL are the real deal single coil machines. Some humbucker eqipped axes might do passable single coil tones with various switching, but the AL or Silo Special are just amazing single coil guitars and have some serious tone indeed. I'm definitely a single coil guy, and though I loved my 20th it was always second fiddle to my AL's or Silo Specials, but as a humbucker machine the 20th was fabulous.
