Jeff from Chicago here. Nice to be here I must say!

By sheer accident, I stumbled upon a MM JP6 at GC (how's that for abbreviating too much). I had two Les Pauls that I couldn't get used to; seems I can never set em' up right even with good techs helping or doing that work. So, I traded and then returned the trade of an SG and spotted and then listened to the voice of a wine red sparkle MM JP6. I was taken aback immediately. Of anything I have ever heard it is the only guitar that nears my McCarty for beautiful cleans and so much more with the piezo. The gent who ordered her was there by coincidence. He opted for a BFR instead so it was the only Balls in the store. His loss was my gain.

Of course I am not into the case she came with, yikes, but the rest is sheer joy so far. And this forum is as friendly as any I have ever seen. I admin the Breedlove forum and you guys are really a Family, I can see that, just plain pleasant here! Good going Ballers! Just have few questions for you.

1. What is the best tool to insert into the truss wheel?
2. How in heck to I raise or lower the saddles and is it those teeny allen holes that I can barely see?
3. Why is it so important to flatten the trem bridge? If I pop it just a hair up it helps with some buzzing issues. I just attract buzzing no matter what electric I have other than PRS, not sure what's up with that.

A level trem keeps the string resting fully/correctly in the cradle.

I use the same allen wrench to turn the wheel.

You can insert anything that fits in the truss rod wheel...

A: It doesn't have to be any particular tool - in fact we purposefully made it to where you can use almost anything to adjust it, such as a small screwdriver, hex wrench, or even a nail. At the factory, we typically use 3mm size hex wrenches.

Amen on that Mike much prefer the standard cases, though I really did like the look on the outside of the LE08 case.

I believe it is the SKB hard shell case that seems to have a little too much play in the way the guitar fits and the grey velour seems a bit mousy in color and texture? Does that make sense? It looks something like this, but you guys know better. But it is not too important as the guitar is the main love here. I started looking into why I have two stress cracks near the neck and learned that it could be the case or it could be something completely different. As anal as I am, almost all my guits are near mint, these cracks don't bother me, cuz for the most part you all say to not let it be a factor, as they are common to whatever degree. As far as GAS goes, MM GAS is already in full bloom, heck, I have 5 Breedlove customs and talk about loud, blingy, acoustic masterpieces? My whole forum is fully loaded with GASsy Breedlovers. Thanks for the warm welcome. I love the responses and appreciate the vibe here, we have the same vibe over at the BGMF.

Chinese Moon Cake Day fun

a little Chinese culture so you know about an obscure holiday that 1.3 billion people celebrate like it is Thanksgiving. A very important family day in China and in my home is the Mid-Autumn Day festival where you put out Moon cake and a drink (?) for the Moon to enjoy, kinda weird but cool. Here is the spread we put out for the Moon on Saturday eve. It was a food fiesta courtesy of my wife the 'cooker'.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a popular East Asian tradition of Chinese origin[dubious – discuss], dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China's Shang Dynasty [1][2][dubious – discuss], that spread to neighbouring cultures like Japan [3]. It was first called Mid-Autumn festival in the Zhou Dynasty [4]. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival. The Chinese Lantern Festival is held on the 15 day of the first lunar month.

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar), a date that parallels the Autumn and Spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar. Yes, you use the teeny allen key that usually comes with it....fairly generally available if you don't have it

Yes - its the little allen screws, But check out the FAQ's on set ups and truss rod adjustments for buzz issues before you start playing with saddle heights.

Looks like Radiance Red based on the picture, which was a limited edition color from 2004 that was later added to the standard color choices, but has just recently been discontinued. If you add the serial # to the official serial # thread you can ask for a DOB as well as a confirmation of the color.
