Hi Joe, and welcome! If there were no EBMM, I'd probably have a PRS myself, but luckily for us EBMM make such great guitars.

The Axis SS is a very fine guitar, but don't forget to check out the Silhouette if you get the chance, or especially the 20th Anniversary Silhouette (if you can find one) as these also come in hardtail.

Yeah, my only other guitar needs a fret job, or a new neck,.......turns out that either one is going to cost close to 500,........what really burns me is that I just put Duncans in it,......but,.....new the guitar (Ibanez Prestige RGA 121) is about 900 new, and i've got Duncans and Sperzels on it. So, I really dont think I am going to be spending 450 plus for a new neck. I feel like I have an 87 Camaro or something, a money pit. Frets are pretty much flat after 3 years; bought it new in mid 2005. Crazy.

I was looking at the silhouette, the only thing that might bother me it the single coil in the middle; that is usually right where I pick,.....but we'll see.

You know the Silo has a universal routing for pickups. You can always get a pick guard for two humbuckers and wire it with either a 3 way switch or a 5 way switch and have it wired like the axis. Then there is no middle pickup any more. just an other option.
