I'm with ya, Kirby. Personally, I can't stand talkbass. Too many whiners over there. And if they spent half as much time playing their instrument as they do talkin smak, then (and only then) would talkbass even remotely appeal to me.

+1

It is, however, a great place to sell (and buy) gear, given the size of the audience and the fact that selling is free. A couple of weeks ago I sold 4 boutique pedals, a wireless and a headphone amp in less than 4 hours, for top dollar, saving me a bunch of eBay fees.

Apart from the signal to noise ratio at TB, the main thing that irks me is the lack of sub-forums, as trying to keep up with discussions is a nightmare, given the huge number of posts per day.

I'm excited about the SSS. Passive option, all single coils... sounds like a vibe that will compliment the Musicman line well (as well as my own collection). I'm starting my own SSS savings fund.

It's pretty darn cool seeing the creative process as it happens! Thanks BP, Dudley, and everyone involved. Looking forward to seeing the next step.

If you cant tell Im pumped and am not hyping this up for the sake of sales. If some of the skeptics out there think that this is cheap marketing and viral manipulation

Right thinking people realise Mr Ball is beyond hype and cheap marketing (and screw the skeptics I say).

This is going to be one hell of a bass and it's a privilege to be allowed the previews and insight into the development process.

Love the Jetson shape, and I'm a bit envious of Sterling getting one! But I'm sure that whatever shape we knulckeheads will get on the bass will be great too, and I think that not making a 25:th anni bass in the Al shape is a good idea, at least if the idea is general appeal of the new bass;-)

Other than that, I don't know what to say except I'll probably want one of these new basses, simply because if Sterling's happy with it I'm pretty sure I will be too.

But I've seen many ppl raising this question, and so far no answer: Will there be a 5:er?

:p

Cool though I didnt think a 5er would be in the offering on this right away...

Same thing here, I though since the bongo became available in 5 and 4 string versions simultaneously, the regular model (2010) would be too, but not the anni 2009 model.

This is GREAT news indeed. If you want to appeal to modern players and not only classic ones (which aren't going to look away from a F. anyway) then this is the right thing to do!
