 Saw this Axis on ebay (270300737544), it amazes me how someone will list an auction for a guitar like this without cleaning it up first.... AND let it get to this state in the first place...gross! :p:p :

I would wear gloves before handling that, it could be infective, you wouldn't believe the amount of bacteria on that neck.

The reason why I have plastic gloves in my shop while working on such guitars.
Once had a bass player who said his bass lost sustain over the years. Even with new strings.
The grime and dirt was just as high as the frets and dampened the string!!!

That's nasty,.......some folks just don't get it,......at least the new owner ( if he can find one, maybe for cheap enough) won't have any misconceptions about the care and handling of the previous owner.

beyond the crazy grime, it looks pretty sweet. Someone rescue that thing and clean it up. A thorough Wonder Wipe treatment and it'll be good to go!

I would definately avoid this one. The first time this guy listed it a while back, he tried to pass it off as an EVH and had no mention of the word Axis. Plus he only had one very distant "artistic" photo. Who knows what else is wrong with it.

When I was a very young player I used to sweat alot and rusted the saddles and springs on a Tele, but how the hell do you get a fingerboard so dirty? Disgusting.

I have to wonder. The wear marks looking too even to be natural, every fret and string position the same. My guess is a gross relic attempt.
