Nice snag and a great picture of the Sapph Black. I guess you never know which models will work best for you until you've tried them all. The Silo Bass always seems like it would be a fun compliment to have around. Enjoy

Thanks Mike, you hit it on the head about trying them all, it is my mission:D
So far it is cool, just adjusting to the A-a tuning.

Capt Moto I politely request that you not refer to my silhouette bass as a baritone guitar. heheheheh

Yea what he said:D Just j\k Capt.

Thanks BP:cool:

I always figured if I ever picked one up I would go with the standard E-E an octave down (I need to keep things as simple as possible for myself). If tuning becomes the issue you can always re-adjust and then re-assess (I'm just not sure if the string set would be the same).

Great buy, Fing. It'll be good to hear your thoughts on what the Silo bass is like to play.

It's been really interesting to read about (and see!) your journey through the EB range in search of that elusive "one" that is just right.

Also I was glad to have benefitted from one of your stops on that journey. :D Gotta love a Luke!

OK first here are some outdoor pics, my friend MikeVT asked about this one being darker than his JP Sapphire Black, and even in the outdoors it does look darker, the sparkle effect on the indoor pics was from lighting and flash.

I figured E-e as well but there were only three of these in stock in the whole US, the other two were setup E-e, but I would rather deal with Pete and why not dare to be different, I will most likely down the road switch to E-e, the string sets are different but Pete has some E-e on order for me, also going to bother Dan with some technical questions next week:)

Thanks starsky, still learning the ins and outs of this one, and you do have to love a Luke, especially a Dargie!! And glad my journey has helped you as well as others, the Silo bass was\is an infatuation thing as far the rest of my guitars I am home:D

That is REALLY cool looking. I forgot that this model existed. I just checked the official EBMM site and it looks like there are 2 tunings available. The string set gauges for the 2 tunings look different enough so I'm guessing it's not a trivial thing to be able to switch between the two because of the nut slots.

Any chance of some clips to hear what that 2-way switch interacts with the 5-way? That would be great if you could...

yea two tunings with two different string gauges going to work on what it takes to switch between the tunings.

Right now I have no way of recording, working on it as soon as i can I will put up some of my crap playing:D

fing, I was thinking of doing some Koa JP, BFR JP, and regular JP YouTube clips this weekend. Maybe I could toss an A-a Silo clip in there, too? :D

Pete, I would love to hear a clip from yours, been fumbling my way around but really digging it, just going to take a lttle time for me:D

Knuckleheads you all should really try one so different yet so cool, I think this one flys under the radar, curious if besides Pete any one else has one on the forum

Pete - I'm definitely interested in hearing a clip of the A-a! I have seen Mitch Merritt's video of it which is quite cool...
