Which one would you rather have and why... Based on pictures I would say the Bahama Blue gets my vote... but they say the Koa wins on sound.

Koa Luke all the way. The quilted maple is very beautiful and even more stunning when stained with Bahama Blue Burst, but you really can't beat that koa that's been coming out of the factory.

Actually... I ordered the Rosewood 10 minutes before they closed yesterday... but still have the option of upgrading to the Koa. ;)

Don't know about the sound of the koa, but in my opinion the look of the koa with the gold hardware is just too much.. And since i'm used to unfinished necks, the 'standard' finished neck that comes with it, just wouldn't feel comfortable to me.

My 2 cents..take the BBB with the standard or the rosewood neck.

i am sorry i don't know about koa sound.. but i found it looks really great..
for me, i will get the KOA one.. i've always been imagining a luke with mahogany body..

btw, sorry to interrupt this discussion, but does anyone have a link to KOA luke pictures/discussion/threat? i tried to search .. but the website searchengine said that "koa" word is just too short to find..

thanx before

So Far the only Koa Luke I've seen that looks really good in pictures is the one below. There seem to be more JP Koa's with really nice grain patterns compared to the Luke ones. I'm more afraid I won't like the grain pattern on the Koa Luke if I order it... Looks is very important to me but sound/tone is even more inportant. I thought about the Luke Koa with Rosewood neck but the people I spoke to said it may sound too dark. My guess is EB matched the mahogany neck with ebony fretboard to help brighten/balance the sound of the all mahogany body and koa top. I'm suprised no one chimed in about the diffrence in playabilty. I love ebony fretboards (my fav)... but the Koa comes with a finished neck... while the regular BFR has the unfinished. I dont know which would be better... ebony fretboard or unfinished neck?? What if I get Koa below and order the regular BFR Bahama Blue Burst... too much of the same?

I'm not a fan of the Bahama Blue color. I chose the Koa out of the two choices.
