Part 1

Oh yeah the guitar - I almost forgot.

Here's a write up. Part 1

I'd been discussing my plans with Fred and said that I would consider re finishing the guitar - in my favourite black colour.
The guitar is a 2004 model mystic dream which had been owned and gigged by a pro musician.
For what ever reason the guitar had been refinished in White with a hint of sparkle and shows battle scars - all of which I was aware of and all of which was no great concern.

Fred had wrapped up the case in bubble wrap and put the case inside a cardboard box.
I opened it at the depot - all in one piece - phew!! Fred had kindly also sent a little something - an assortment of EB plectrums (I must run a separate thread on my EB plectrums) -Spud you sad g!t !

The guitar played ok out of the box. I did my work super quick and drove to my mates guitar workshop for him to run his eyes over it and to plug it in!!

Fred had re installed the original pickup back in for me and wired it up - man that guy deserves a Knighthood - ARISE SIR FRED !!

He eyeballed the neck - and confirmed that it needed a tweak to the truss rod. It had back bow and we loosened it and I tightened the strings a tone to ease it back.

After being under increased string tension for 6 hours and settling down - things are looking so much better - its now tuned to pitch and I've re adjusted the truss rod a few degrees.

I'd better post a picture I guess !! (More to come with Part 2)
