Question Sterling By Musicman

I have 3 questions about Sterling by Music Man, and I hope I'm not crossing any lines by asking them.

1) What is the predicted/planned price range of the line?
2) What kind of wait can we expect from the time ordered to delivered? (Estimate of course)
3) When will these be ready to order/ will we start seeing these in stores?

If this has been posted somewhere and I've missed it redirect me, please.

i don't think EBMM released those details yet (all 3 questions). that said, i'm betting we will be the first to know

1) Here in the states retail starts at $569 (Silo20) and goes to $779 (JP50, AX40) on the guitars. The basses top out around $979 or $999 on the 5-string trans/burst finishes. Generally you can figure around 30% off for street pricing. The guitars and basses also come with a gig bag!

2) It wasn't presented to me as a waiting/backorder situation. I'm sure after the NAMM orders are under their belt there will be a steady availability of these instruments.

3) You can order them now from your favorite dealers, and they should begin shipping in mid-March.

What is different in the Sterling by Musicman line than the regular line as far as the instruments themselves? Is it the electronics, the material, or both? I understand that this does not make them any less quality a product as was evident by the SUB line of products.

I tried a SUB and LOVED IT!!! When I went back to buy it, it was gone :

Now I am thinking I may be able to get a SUB type instrument in the SBMM line.

I saw these at NAMM and i'm really impressed at how good these instruments look, almost like the real EBMM instruments.
The difference is these line of instruments are manufactured overseas, not in the USA like the real Musicmans and the basses are not available in HH or HS models AFAIK.
The materials are the same (ash, maple, rosewood) the pups look the same but i guess the preamps must be a little different if they're made overseas too, i don't know if they use the same as the US models.
Definitely a big improvement over the OLP line and looks a lot closer to the real deal than the USB instruments IMO.

1) the street prices will start at $399 and end up around $799
2)for the most part these will be in stock once the production is rolling at full speed.
The first shipments are due in the USA around the beginning of March.
3) you'll have to check with your EBMM distributor in your country. If they placed an order with us at the NAMM show they should be part of the first batch (March 2009).

You are totally correct, once the first shipments arrive in March and April, we will have regular shipments and should have stock on most models readily available.

fretless market is smaller than fretted so we may not do it right away. but then again if the demand is there and it'll be hard to ignore it.
