The funny thing is that I dont think that Ed Likes our stuff very much
Hey BP, I've always appreciated what you guys do. But it was just a matter of not having the itch for any of the stuff I had on hand. All the good things I've said about the basses I've reviewed was/is 100% true, but they never seemed like something I'd use for what I do. However, that has changed! The Sterling by EB stuff just hit me. I don't know why, but those two (SB14 and Ray34) just felt right to me.
I also never tried one of your basses with flats on it... a big mistake!
As much as people think of me as a slapper (and the EB stuff kicks ass at that), I virtually NEVER slap on a gig - only on my video demos. Hell, I play honky tonk music 90% of the time, and the vibe is old school, passive... you know... the "F" word. But..... the SB14 kicked ass on my country gig, so... it's flats for that sucker! Yeehaw and God Bless Merle Haggard!
I'm very happy to have some EBs to play that I really dig. I've always liked all the folks the folks at the company, and from what I've seen first hand... you're a rare individual when it comes to being the head of a major instrument manufacturer. You know as well as I do that not many of your peers spend time talking to folks online. I've seen how much you do for your people, it's a groovy thing. There's a lot of heart there, can't say that about too many people in your position.
Okay, enough with the fanboy trip. Jack is gonna wet himself!
