Did you buy that guitar new or used?

He bought it used, it was mine, I sold it and he bought it from some else further on down the line. Then Pete put the rosewood neck on it.

I truly miss that guitar. The original neck had been sealed at the factory.

I miss it as well :) The sealed neck was stellar!

I bought it from the guy Glenn sold it to, and I traded/sold it to Pete.

Pete took a kick ass guitar and basically gave it legendary/mythical status with the addition of the rosewood neck :p Truly a one of a kind now.

Not really a newbie question. The neck was "sealed" with a super glue finish. It was allegedly supposed to protect the neck a little better and add stability to the neck resulting in less movement due to humidity/climate changes. BP did not feel that there was any real evidence that this worked/ made the difference claimed, but it was available to those who wanted to send in their guitars to have it done.

1990 EBMM Silhouette, former owner swaped the bridge PU for a Seymour Duncan PGP.

Question: this neck feels like very lightly finished, is early EBMM neck finished or former user DIYed it or it's factory sealed?

Thanks!

Going by the fact you have a 6 bolt Silo, I would say the neck finish is factory.

Thanks! About that, I do prefer the lightly finished neck, unfinished necks do feel great but get hideious when the dirt got into wood grain. I hope EBMM could give both finished and unfinished options!
