For what it's worth, I think the EBMM's that I've played are totally original and don't pretend to be any other guitar unlike alot of guitars out there that are directly trying to copy the vibe of classic guitars that have been hugely popular.

Totally understandable if it didn't work for you, but no one can deny what an incredible value for money a Sub is and that it has its own vibe and sound. (Which I happen to love.)

Good luck on your quest and make sure you try out a Super Sport before you upgrade to a high end guitar. Sub's are value instruments and the high end EBMM's are in another universe imo.

No pickup change can make a Sub into a Gibson. Different guitars, different tones.

Yup Rob, of course you're right. After I posted I remembered LP's are shorter scale, mahog necked, maple capped body....even EMGs are going to sound different in the two different guitars. As a Suboholic I had to stand up for em though. Sorry Blackmore. I think the majority of us understand you're situation. Most have had LP's before, including me. Good luck to you.

To be fair, your first post says you've exchanged it.

Also it was like April 18th when you said the Sub 1 was "bloody great." That was only 6 weeks ago...

You certainly have the right to your opinion. But coming to a company-sponsored board to talk about another brand...

Think about it.

who cares man,i like ebmm but i like les pauls it aint a crime, get a life

It certainly isn't a dictatorship. I think it's a shame you didn't get on with the Sub- neither did I. I tried 3 Sub guitars. Even for £139 i didn't want to spend money on it. I'm happy with my Luke, ASS and SS. I'm also happy with my 109 quid Peavey generation which i keep in the boot of my car- I'm certainly not a guitar snob or anything.

I think this forum is great- well balanced opinions and advice I'm certainly bordering on what you would call a "fan boy"- and I pretty much wouldn't play anything else. But I find it poor that people are posting negative coments just because someone doesn't get on with a guitar. It's bordering on embarassing. I really hope it's banter and nothing else.

EDIT: I mean 279 quid for the subs I tried- not 139!

Don't let the few over reactions scare you off. I think we've had more than a few posters here who don't actually own an EB but are still fans.

To quote Spinal Tap: "Too much f*****' perspective"

We have to remember in the grand scheme of things that guitars arent important, most of us here probably couldn't justify our guitar collections as a sound business investment, and all human endevour is ultimately pointless so whats one guitar amongst friends?

Whoa! Now I feel depressed :)

you could have gotten a nice used EBMM for the price of that NEW Epi ZAKK ...at least in Canada...:)

the only used ebmm in the uk for that money wich is £419 would have been a sub,the next up silos go for about £700-£800 used

blackmore - guitars are just a tool. Play what makes you happy. Big Poppa loves variety. Even he owns a few guitars that don't sport the EBMM logo. Good luck with the Epi and stick around. At least you did not give up playing all together...good on ya bro.

I love my Epiphone flying V. One of the best feeling guitars ive ever played actually. Money, brand, and all that doesnt matter, its the feel and the tone.

Thats why the Epi V has been my 'go-to' guitar for the last few years, and my Fender squire is my 'go-to' guitar when the V is at the band house or all cased up.

Though now its gonna be a big fight once I have a MM guitar here. That and the V will be going back and forth on stage.

No need to take it personally, man. We're all just trying to have a good time. Laugh it up with the rest of us and take it easy. It's just a little joke.

On the other hand, it's sad to see that you're getting rid of the SUB. They really are very nice guitars. I do understand that it may not fit your needs and EBMM guitars are pricy for those without the funds to buy one. Maybe you'll come across a really good deal and find the guitar you want.

Stick around and have a good time. It's your choice whether you play a Music Man or not. We all hope you will play them because we all love them and want to spread that love of Music Man. We are a fun-loving group and joke around a lot on this forum. It's something you gotta get used to.
