I'm sure everyone here knows, but the JP, especially the BFR JP where Piezo is standard, is an incredibly versatile axe.

It sure is a shredder's axe, but it can also do so much more.

Amazingly versatile. Definitely the most versatile, most comfortable guitar I've ever owned. That doesn't mean I would be opposed to something else (maybe a Morse).

DD2 BFR JP ftw! I say that because they're limited, but the Koa's are in their own respect. I love my Koa but I'll love my Dargie when it arrives as well.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback guys.

Exclusiveness in the end of the day shouldn't matter too much honestly. In the end it's an instrument you play. If DD2 wasn't limited the choice would be easy as pie .

I personally would never buy something over another just for exclusiveness.

Yeah, that's kind of the direction I'm leaning also. It's not so much the fact that the DD2 would be rare, or that I could show it off to other EB fans, as much as that it would have a neat story to go along with it in ten years when someone asks why it has those weird inlays or why it's a BFR but it's solid colored.

Like I said earlier, it has to be the Koa. Even despite Koa's being standard, and DD2's being limited, I think you'll see more DD2's around these forums than Koas. Even then Koa is only available on Luke and JP, where DD2 will be available and many more models.

And to be frank with you mate, there is no better finish that suits the gold hardware better than the Koa. That is truth.

Good luck with your decision SHane, I'm sure whatever choice you make will make ya happy but my two cents is with the Koa, for sure.

I agree about the gold hardware, the whole thing just looks like a piece of art. It almost seems to beautiful for me to get my mits all over it!

That is a tough call. We'll, since I already have an original DD, I think I'd go with the Koa. But, the flip color of the Dargie and the Ebony board is very appealing. Not sure if it's worth having two Dargie, though.

They both have the ebony board, so that's covered either way

Indeed, I don't play anything vaguely DT-esque and it does everything i need it to.

I think I'm leaning more towards the Koa, which is the way I was leaning before anyway, all the feedback just helped me confirm that. I always said the only guitars I still want are a nice maple/flame 20th and a Koa JP (and maybe an EVH for the cool factor) and I was thinking maybe the DD2s had thrown a monkey wrench into that, but I think I'll stay on course with the original plan.
