The BFR cherry burst is really, REALLY growing up on me. It has gone from "weird" to my favorite BFR color in 2 days.

Color wise it is definitely way up there for me (always loved a rich cherry burst)... the veneer is still a little weird to me, but the color is still so striking.

There are som purdy guitars in those pics that's for sure.

The veneer struck me as odd the first time I saw it, too. I think it accentuates the body shape and makes the guitar look "sharper" in a way.

What I'd like to know. Are all of the BFR guitars this way? It seems like that part of the guitar is covered up by the burst on the darker colors.

I'm pretty sure they don't have the veneer on the others. I'm guessing this was something they tried to make the lighter color stand out more. I'd imagine that if JP likes(or liked as the case my be) the veneer it will stay (or that's why it made it as far as namm.)

The first time I remember seeing that was the prototype BFR Luke that um... Luke has. LOL It seems like it has a veneer... it may have just been the way the burst worked.

I'm also thinking that the depth added when you see one of those guitars in person would drastically change how the veneer appears.

It has a kind of "Hot Rod" sort of look to it. Makes the F-1 name really fit even better.

too bad it isn't called the F-1. lol Would have been cool if that could have been used. I can't believe someone threatened to sue over the use of that and his name wasn't Bernie Eckelstein. LOL I mean, that is irony right there. lol
