So on my trip to Nashville I had a chance to play a BFR Stingray 5H through a Markbass Mini 121p with a New York 121 extension cabinet... and ... OH.... MY.... GAWD....

I just sold the Ampeg SVT4-PRO with the 115 and 410HE.... and I am not going back. I was really skepticle... and had to try one out because of the reviews I had read... and hearing is believing. This little thing looked like a "toy" practice amp with MAYBE 10 watts.... but I repeat OH MY GAWD.... the "little lunch box" opened up a Sam's Club Sized CAN-O-WHOOP A** (TM) on the store. The freakin' low B was more articulate and full on this thing then on an Ampeg 6x10 with a SWR 750 watt head.

I must have the killer little lunch box from haites rig... and I must have it yesterday.

Seriously though, if you haven't tried their stuff... go do it. You will be really glad you did. It sounded great with that Stingray, and I will definately be buying one. I could use any advice from any of the Markbass Vets out there on which way to go. I don't need anything TOO loud, club gig max. I want it to be able to handle the low B of the upcoming Bongo, and I like warmth. I saw they now have a LM Tube head which is appealing, but I was also REALLY impressed by the Mini 121p. I also considered the 151p for more depth. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Really.... it was like a Rubics Cube of Doom...... I made the Geetards stop playing..... rattled the ceilings in the OTHER room.... caused an adolecent to have a bowel movement, and had an epiphic revelation all at the same time. But yet I digress. BFR Ray Pics to come. But I really had to share this experience.

No Bongo's anywhere though.... made me kind of sad.

There you have it my choice is the CMD102P allows me the best of both words, and in my case a real match for vintage vs modern side by side with my Trace Elliot from 1989. Loud as f###, light as a feather! :D

I have a Gallien Krueger 15" extention cab ElectroVoice Loaded which is gathering dust as since I have the Mark Bass I have not yet needed it out on gigs or rehersals ;)

I also have a CMD102P with a 1x15 extension cab. Never again will I lump an Ampeg and break my back. Markbass gear sounds fantastic with all my MM basses! I even use it with my Taylor acoustic skinny stringer.

I have a nice GK stack that has collected dust since my Markbass 102 CMD got here. I have not found a need as of yet to hook up and extension cab (but am hoping i do). JOSH

Would you guys recommend I check out a 102P over the Mini 121P? The "little lunch box of doom" really killed.... and it has such a great WOW factor. I would love to see the look on peoples faces showing up with a Bongo and that little guy and rattling the walls.

They had a 102P there, I just didn't get a chance to play it.

Really, really, really super impressed.

good stuff

I find the Genz Benz Shuttle series works very well with SR5 and Bongo 5s

along with Epifani cabs

(mods - if this is against the rules feel free to remove my post)

Amp whores are finicky beasts. For a while, the LMII was at the top of the heap. I've seen a few 'converts' fall off the wagon for various reasons, most having to do with a new flavor of the day.

But I've had my LMII and MB cabs for years and wouldn't think of playing anything else.

Listen with your ears.

I have a TA503 and I really like it. If having a four semi-parametric EQ section isn't enough you still have the two VLE and VPF filters after it. I'd like to get a Markbass 410 to go with it.

I believe the 121p and 102p have the same amp head, just different speaker config, i.e. one has 1 x 10 and the other 2 x 10

Is there a MB Combo that has a LM2-equivalent amp in it?
And since you can't buy it anymore (the LM2), can anyone tell me if the LM3 is as good?
