Well a buddy from work and I took a trip to GC in Natick today at lunch to check out the 25th Anni model that I heard was there. Sorry Jack I was in a meeting from 9-11 and we had a little family crisis at home so I never got to send you the PM.
I walked in, looked to the left high up on the wall and spied it in the middle on the very top row.
So, I mull around for a few, the closest sales guy was busy helping someone. I wander a bit more, then I notice he's free, I move in. "Hey man can you get a guitar off the wall for me?", "Sure which one?", "The 25 Anniversary Model up there (I point)". The dude asks me you like Music Man guitars, me too. I think COOL!! I help him get the ladder, he had a difficult time, but I helped, I wanted to try out the guitar. He climbs up and gets it down, hands it to me and says, "What's your name?", they like to make it personal, I say Glenn, he says, Hey I'm David. Then he says "Hey are you from the Music Man forum?" Yup, nice to be known this way. Then he tells me that he's only been working in Natick for a few weeks.
David it was a pleasure meeting you man, I'll see you again sometime really soon I'm sure.
I take the 25th over to the Fender amps, I've been favoring them lately when I go there, I plug into a Blues Junior NOS amp, tweed, very nice I must admit. David powers the row on for me and off I go.
I'm a very, very crappy player (If player is even an appropriate word), I mess around, it has a great feel and the neck was flamey and very sweet, rosewood fret board and a trem, but no trem arm, ok by me. I messed around with the Series/Paralle setting, I seem to prefer Series myself from the sound point of view. I liked the switching, the single coil setting was very cool.
I get my buddy (Tom), I hand it to him and he sits down and starts playing. Tom has a unique perspective, because since I bring a guitar with me to work during the winter time, can't hit golf balls in the snow too easily, we mess around at lunch, so he's played all of my Music Man guitars.
I liked it as well, though he tends to buy cheaper guitars and only has a few, he really liked the neck on it.
Gotta say, I think everyone should give it a go, I liked it as much as I've liked all the other Music Man's I've played/messed around with.
Ok, so here are some pictures that I took of it.
Oh and here is yet another cell phone crappy picture of the other MM's they had.
