Well a buddy from work and I took a trip to GC in Natick today at lunch to check out the 25th Anni model that I heard was there. Sorry Jack I was in a meeting from 9-11 and we had a little family crisis at home so I never got to send you the PM. :(

I walked in, looked to the left high up on the wall and spied it in the middle on the very top row.

So, I mull around for a few, the closest sales guy was busy helping someone. I wander a bit more, then I notice he's free, I move in. "Hey man can you get a guitar off the wall for me?", "Sure which one?", "The 25 Anniversary Model up there (I point)". The dude asks me you like Music Man guitars, me too. I think COOL!! I help him get the ladder, he had a difficult time, but I helped, I wanted to try out the guitar. He climbs up and gets it down, hands it to me and says, "What's your name?", they like to make it personal, I say Glenn, he says, Hey I'm David. Then he says "Hey are you from the Music Man forum?" Yup, nice to be known this way. Then he tells me that he's only been working in Natick for a few weeks.

David it was a pleasure meeting you man, I'll see you again sometime really soon I'm sure.

I take the 25th over to the Fender amps, I've been favoring them lately when I go there, I plug into a Blues Junior NOS amp, tweed, very nice I must admit. David powers the row on for me and off I go.

I'm a very, very crappy player (If player is even an appropriate word), I mess around, it has a great feel and the neck was flamey and very sweet, rosewood fret board and a trem, but no trem arm, ok by me. I messed around with the Series/Paralle setting, I seem to prefer Series myself from the sound point of view. I liked the switching, the single coil setting was very cool.

I get my buddy (Tom), I hand it to him and he sits down and starts playing. Tom has a unique perspective, because since I bring a guitar with me to work during the winter time, can't hit golf balls in the snow too easily, we mess around at lunch, so he's played all of my Music Man guitars.

I liked it as well, though he tends to buy cheaper guitars and only has a few, he really liked the neck on it.

Gotta say, I think everyone should give it a go, I liked it as much as I've liked all the other Music Man's I've played/messed around with.

Ok, so here are some pictures that I took of it.

Michael, agreed, it was a great way to spend a lunch, I've been spending too much time lately working thru lunch.

As for the "Getting over the matching headstock thing", for me dude there isn't anything to get over in my eyes man. ;)

Great story, Glenn! So, was the salesperson a member of the forum as well? Ironically, I also sampled the 25th at my local GC through a Blues Junior. For some reason, things didn't sound as good as I hoped and then I caught an aweful smell -- like something burning. The smell was coming from the back of the amp (assumed it was a tube going bad). I turned the Blues Jr. off, took the 25th to a Fender HRD...and all was good :)

For a moment there I thought the 25th was a let down  I was thinking, what the heck is everyone raving about? Am I missing something? :D:D:D

Rest assure, I was quite happy once the 25th was plugged into a properly functioning amp!

Hahahaha, the only draw back to tube amps!!

Yah he is a member, he told me his forum name, but I've got so much going on these days, I can't for the life of me remember it now. Hopefully, he'll post in this thread. I know others will appreciate his love of EBMM. This GC is one of the larger ones in the area.

Cool seeing there's a friendly guy in Natick. Maybe I'll go back there now.

I would have head over, Glenn.....based on your rain comment earlier but today was "get a flu shot at work and bring your wife too" so we went out to lunch after.

We'll have to meet up there some day.....maybe play "smoke on the water" together......hahaha

I do like the looks of that 25th! (although I'd go down to Manchester CT to actually buy). I "announced" to the wife that for Christmas, I'd like a guitar. She won't figure anything else out, so I'm hoping......

Jack, NP man, glad you had plans man, having lunch with your wife is better than meeting me and hanging @ GC man.

I hear you about going down to see Pete, GC could never meet or beat Pete's prices.

But we'll meet there sometime man. The 25th was nice, but not my cup of tea.

We should plan a metrowest mini-bash some lunchtime there. Now that they have more than 1 EBMM, we wouldn't even have to fight over who gets to play it.

Sounds kind of cool, kind of like a lunch and meet.
