Since I couldn't find any info online about the near future of EBMM I decided to ask here. Would there be new designs? Would there be acoustic guitars? Would there be new line of amps? Would there be 'Custom Shop'?
I am sure we all understand the business aspect of this art and this year hasn't been that remarkable in the industry but still... Any teasers? Perhaps a New EBMM factory tour?

Information from the highest resource is always welcome but I invite all of you to share thoughts and opinion. Thank you!

We'll find out what's in store at Winter NAMM, just like we do every year, and not one day before.

2009 was remarkably, even amazingly productive for EBMM, with many new and radically different product introductions, a slew of special edition instruments, ground-breaking new electronics, a bunch of new colors, a whole new budget-priced line of guitars and basses, and a totally revamped website.

Custom shop ain't gonna happen. Goes against company philosophy. You've got thousands and thousands of choices already. BP rightly reminds us of this every time somebody asks for custom work.

Amps and acoustics? I doubt it.

Factory tour/bash? It'd be amazing to go to another one of those (my Knucklehead award from 2007 has a place of honor on my desk), but I doubt that too. The desert bash cost the company well into the six figures, I think.

Thank you for answering all my questions. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to visit NAMM so I'll have to hope that my friend that is going is very thorough and spends enough time at the EBMM booth.
I am glad the EBMM had a great year and I sincerely wish even better one soon. It's been always weird to me why is it that you can't get a JP model without the forearm contour that is not a BFR or a 4k guitar for instance (probably I haven't checked well enough and correct me if I am wrong). Also I find that EBMM technically is a big Custom Shop that works only with certain musicians and produces their concepts of how they perceive that their guitar should look/sound/feel etc like and that is simply amazing!
I guess I wanted to know whether anything like a 25th Anniversary TYPE of instrument is in the works ...

The introduction to the Ozzy's Bass player video trailer was very intriguing ...

Dude, EBMM usually tries to post from Namm, Pictures and stuff. Plus there are those here who will not remain nameless (Pete/Nick and Lenny) who have the luck of being able to goto Namm, and we usually get scraps from them as well.

Just stick around and enjoy, everything in good time man.

BP has mentioned that the 25th Anniversary will live on as a model called the "Reflex" (a name EBMM had already trademarked for an unproduced guitar back in the 1980s) but the special venitian red color will be retired. However, we will have to wait for the NAMM show (or close to it if they give us a sneak peak) for the color options.

In 2009 EBMM has launched the following:

  • 25th Anniversary Basses and Guitars
  • Big Al Basses
  • SLO StingRay models
  • Vintage Classic StingRays
  • Rosewood Neck limited Guitars and Basses
  • Special run of Dargie Delight 2 limited edition colour for basses and guitars.
  • And then... there is still the "game changer" presently in the making which is said to revolutionize the way pickup switching has been known so far.
I believe there are more innovation on the guitar side, but I am not too sure as I don't follow it 100%, wasn't there a redesigned JP body shape i.e. without the scooped arm rest or something, new pickups in the JP's what was it? anyways...

In less than 12 months (the year is not over yet) EBMM has generated so much in terms of innovation and design as well as original new models (25th and Big Al) when all around us other so called mainstream manufatcurers those that beging wit F, G and P are just shuffling pickup options, and dishing out reissues of their "legendary" models.

Someone mentioned elsewhere we are being spoiled, of course we are, where else you get so much?

I know owning a Stingray 5 to begin with and visiting this forum has turned me into a fan, when I thought I had it all, now I am infected and I fall on my ass in contradiction, but I can honestly say I am more than satisfied with the EBMM brand and no one dares take it away from me
