Wow, amazing to see how many people have discovered this as a new thread. A few months ago I would surely have thought everyone would be bored of it by now, lol.

Thanks for the birthday wishes fellas.

Guitar gets dropped off to Dan Friday afternoon for paint!

Morbid, this thread has been a journey! Thanks for keeping us all posted, very few people would've stuck it all the way through.

And even more so, thanks for picking up that abused axe and giving it the overhaul it deserves! It's sure to be a stunner!

Had to leave town unexpectedly, but am back now. This means I was unable to drop off the guitar on Friday, but I should be able to drop it off tomorrow. This naturally delays the process a little bit, but good things take time as they say.

Got the parts today VIA UPS. One part was wrong, and one was missing, but as always, Ernie Ball has stellar customer service, and the issue was rectified immediately. Rather than reuse the old wires that are still attached to the old parts, I think I'm going to attempt to buy some new wires with matching cables...rather than do a patch job.

All in all, things are progressing smoothly

Morbid, I had time to read the whole thread today. You shure put A lot of time and effort in this project. I'm proud to be a baller too, though I'm not as ballsy as you have been with this guitar. The color is going to be cool. Have you dropped it of for paint? I cant wait to see what magic he can do to get it back in shape.

Replacement parts came today. Still haven't gotten the guitar to the paint man. We keep scheduling times to make the exchange but it keeps falling through! Patience is a virtue I guess

Good news fellas! It's been a busy couple of months, both for me and Dan (the painter for the guitar), but both of our schedules finally matched up and I was able to drop the guitar off to Dan to be painted today. He said the guitar should be ready in about 3 weeks to a month. Now it's just a waiting game!

The final touch will be getting new wires for most of the electronics, rewiring it all, putting the rest of the guitar back to guitar, PRAYING that all of the electronics are in working condition (we already know how many unforeseen things have come from this guitar, lol), and the guitar will likely need a good set up from my Luthier. I also intend on getting the back plate engraved with my name, the date of completion and the fact that it was restored.

Needless to say, I can't wait to play it!
