well ive read almost all this thread. good god. it was on its third post at 12 30 gmt today when i looked at the forum. lol.
i understand both sides of the story . and agree about the different materials hardware needed to be an out and out metal(ish) guitar. but i think a few extra options for the jp models i.e a hardtail option would get it into that bracket . but i think theres a lot you can do with the standard guitar as is. i do like some kinds of metal .not the real heavy thrash stuff that has no real melody but i like a lot of the sub genres. the reason i bought the my jp6 was for the heavy stuff i like to mess around with and because of the features of the guitar it kind of fits itself to the instrumental stuff i like to play most of the time. the other reason i bought the guitar was this guy. probably my favourtie british player apart from guthrie. and hes relatively unknown . i know his name has been mentioned on here in the past as ive searched. hes a metal guitarist/instrumental ist. plays with a band called sacred mother tongue who are most definatley metal . and there very good. andy plays mainly ebmm jp models. and he put some emgs in one of his. and it sounds fantastic. heres a video of it for a trailer for a dimebag dvd. (which i have)
YouTube- Quick Licks Dimebag Darrell - www.licklibrary.com
this will give u an example of what u can do with some emgs. but i do agree about the hardtail for rythem stuff. andy uses esp guitars a lot now , i think hes endorsed by them. but he has used his jp's for many years for metal and hes one of the best metal players in the world. he would make some of these metal superstars guitarists of the moment wet themselves.
anyway lets make it a 10 pager lol.
I have a feeling the BP is laughing at this thread (I am too). Is there something specific that constitutes a "metal" guitar? PRS for example to me doesnt seem to be a Metal guitar but quite a bit of metal guys play them. And whats the big deal with swaping pups anyway? Make it your OWN metal guitar....Dont even respond to my comment...this is pointless. I'm gonna go play some Metal on my Silo Special with Piezomuahahaha.
LOL Well said, I have been laughing at this all day as i was reading it during class, BP must be ROTFLHAO.
I read the beginning of this early his moning when Deano started it, went downhill quickly and exploded as well.
You know what is Metal??? Like some others have said not sure any longer and honestly any guitar can do it, some better than others.
to me no such thing as a Metal guitar or Rock guitar or Country guitar.
they are all a musical instrument to play what the player wants its all in the mind, soul fingers and style of the particular player, well thats all beagle out.
P.S.
Dante you are on my "NO" list.
i dare you to show up to a country gig without a tele.
Really...I would show up with an AL at a country gig and nothing would be said if I play good. What is your point other than a "metal guitar" is not made by EBMM? Seriously, if you can play... No matter the genre... People could give two monkey craps. If you can't simply play metal with ANY brand I have a simple solution. Go friggin' practice! My only gripe is now the sense of entitlement to start asking EBMM to make a metal guitar because you can't play it on an EBMM guitar. Really?
This=astute!
Personally, I think we ought to just relax.
i dare you to show up to a country gig without a tele.
I show up to country gigs all the time with my army of AL's!!!!! Ive even used strats too, and occasionally a PRS. Check out the country scene at the moment, humbuckers galore.
Pretty silly comment mate!
