Maybe JB wants a Carved Top, Mahogany Bodied Reflex...you could even cut 3/4" off the neck scale and glue it in to the body perhaps...

As far as chasing that LP sound with a Musicman, which is what I think the orig poster was looking for, I would say hold on for that 2HB AL. So much of a Les Paul's tone comes from that thick, heavy Mahogany body. With the 2HB AL having a Mahogany body and a rosewood neck it may just nail the LP tone and then some... The Axis and the 25th will do it as well. You also have to ask what part of the LP tone are you looking for... I tend to hear LP's as a little muddy and not nearly as articulate as the Axis. To some, that is what defines the LP tone... to me it hinders it.
Wait till NAMM though... I think BP may be up to something...

I have to agree with Phatduckk here. The 25th comes close to a classic LP, but what I like is that it sounds like me, that there's the LP sort of sound but a lot of original tone in there too. That said, you can't beat the sound of a good old LP, good being the operative word. Since I got mine, I've had the chance to play 3 other 25ths and they were very consistent in feel and tone. I don't think you always get a consistently made instrument from other companies. By the way, after playing this guitar for the last few months, my vintage instruments have been gathering dust. I use neither the '59 strat of the '62 Gibson, not even for fun. The strat has an unbeatable tone, but the 25th is such a beautiful, totally accurate, quiet (unmolested vintage guitars have terrible, if any, shielding), joy to play, well, I won't sell the strat, but I'm not using it very much.

The closest in format would be the Axis Supersprt BFR with fixed bridge. at least with the mahogany toneblock. If nothing else comes out, that might be my one and only option.
But I for one would love to see a carved top/full mahogany body & neck option from EBMM on an Axis someday. I think that would make me possibly replace my Les Pauls... like the Silo Spec has almost destroyed the strat collection in my arsenal. (I had 5 strats... now I'm down to 2, and with 3 Silo Specs).
The 20th, for all it's vaunted beauty, is not a Les Paul vibe guitar. It wasn't meant to be, but was a cool rendition of the Silo while paying tribute to the vintage side of tastes. Probably the main reason why I still insist on having at least one even though I had to thin out my herd. Though why BP decided to put PAFs on a 24 fret necked guitar, I'll never know.
I would love a short scale LP styled ASS from EBMM for the sheer desire of quality. While i really do enjoy and love my Les Pauls, they pale in comparison to my 10 year old Silo Spec in terms of build quality. My limited edition Slash goldtop from Gibson has a flatspot on the neck shoulder! Can you believe that?
EBMM has never catered much to the popular masses in product creation, so it doesn't matter if the people at TGP or HC don't like them. For that matter, if it wasn't more than $3,000 and made by a business less than 5 people, the true TGP-ers wouldn't go for them anyways.
The main crowd at the "normal" side of things at TGP are no longer the real regulars. They're immigrants from HC. the differences in posting patterns are highly obvious.
but I digress...
Like I was saying, knowing how much happiness and joy I have gained from replacing my strats with Silo Specs, I can only imagine how much more fun I'd have with a short scale, maple carved top mahogany ASS.

So, BP....how does it work? Do the artists seek out EBMM for endorsement deals or do you personally seek out certain artists for endorsement deals?....or both? From what I gathered from most of your posts, is that you guys do not have any plans to add another EBMM "original" model to your catalog such as the Silhouette for instance anytime soon. But, in the meantime, would only add another model to your catalog if approached by a new EBMM artist to build one. Which I believe is pretty accurate.

Les Pauls used to be my main guitars for years. Characteristics of a Les Paul for me:
1- Big huge heavy chunk of wood: sustain and when you sling one, you feel it.
2- I had P90 in mine, more singing and still biting, especially in the upper mids.
3- 24.75 scale, you can really grip it and go ape**** when necessary.
Can an EBMM do all this? Yes, but in a different way. IMO EBMM can do it better.

Unfortunately, I can't see EB ever making a guitar like this. But who knows what the market will dictate.

This is kind of a rabbit trail. EBMM will most likely never do a set-neck or copy another guitar design.
You can get some of the key features of the LP with a mahogany body+neck, flame maple top. I don't see EBMM using a TOM bridge either. I'd rather have a MusicMan hardtail or trem bridge.

and it kicks ass, super chunky sound. too bad it extends the body size a bit.
