i would think if you're gonna have the strings off for an extended period of time you would need to loosen the truss rod. it's tightened to counteract with the strings. with no strings its just bending the neck for no reason.
I know threads morph in all sorts of directions, but I think The Grand Wazoo's initial advice was simple and good. Just let the bass settle a bit in your environment before you start yanking away at truss rods and saddle heights.
Well after my initial post, I have googled other sources, in order to find some professional tips, and I have found a link with a lot of information on general bass maintenance and setup, this has nothing to do with getting a brand new bass "climatized" but it gives you a lot of tips on how to set up intonation, neck relief, pickup heigth etc etc.
And it does mention MusicMan basses too so it's not totally off topic or offensive to this board.
Bear in mind I never heard of this guy before in my life and from what I can make of it, I believe he is either a luthier or boutique bass builder of some sort, anyway it doesn't matter as he is not advertizing any competitior manufacturer.
What he does give in details is quite interesting, here is the link: http://www.jerzydrozdbasses.com/akcndfr54jdhrei567/Ultimate_Guide_ver100.pdf
P.S. ...one Question for You:
What's the weight balance of Your beautiful 25th hanging on the strap over shoulder?
For example, my Sterling 5 don't have perfect balance, 'cause weight of 5 banger neck and head stock with 5 string tuners always have overbalance on the neck side instead of body, so time after time I must pull it back in my personal play position!![]()
That's sometimes frustrating when playing a long gigs and at times disturb my focus of playing!![]()
