OK kids here is when all hell breaks loose! We proud to introduce the latest evolution of the John Petrucci line of guitars. This thing is slightly larger and is chambered...it is alive! Its the JPX!
It is available in only one color....We call it 'Borolo' like a fine italian wine!
I cant wait for the "I like the old ones better" posts...you can still get the scoop on and bfr...we arent taking anything away ...this is just the latest in our collaboration

I wouldn't really say its that drastic, but I did like the upper horn on the BFR better, but like any other thing, it may grow on some people. I was never a fan of 5 way switches, much prefer the 3 way switches.
All in all, I'm not quite sure what my take on it is. The chambering sounds cool and finish wise it looks great. I'm still not sure about the upper horn though. The fretboard looks like Ebony to me, which is killer, I much prefer it over Rosewood now. Any word on what the body is made of and whether there is a tone block or anything?

People are going to whine about it being different, but they forget it's what JP wants, not what we want.
When it has your signature on the headstock, then you can whine, mmmkay? Until then, be happy BP and JP are giving you ANOTHER awesome guitar to choose from.
