Guys ... keep in mind this is the inside scoop from BP, these haven't been announced yet. It's inside info, not a public consultation to find out what y'all like ;)

Some of these comments sound vaguely familiar ... probably because they happen every time there's a change to a production model :p

OK kids here is when all hell breaks loose! We proud to introduce the latest evolution of the John Petrucci line of guitars. This thing is slightly larger and is chambered...it is alive! Its the JPX!

It is available in only one color....We call it 'Borolo' like a fine italian wine!

I cant wait for the "I like the old ones better" posts...you can still get the scoop on and bfr...we arent taking anything away ...this is just the latest in our collaboration

Nice, love the color and black hardware, and like the chambering idea as well as the 5 way selector.

Very nice BP, may I please correct you nice american friends, without meaning any offense that the wine in question it is is spelled Barolo and not Borolo, sorry again if I took the liberty.

Unfortunatly,to me its lost some character,Looks like an 80's ESP/Fender heavy metal.

I wouldn't really say its that drastic, but I did like the upper horn on the BFR better, but like any other thing, it may grow on some people. I was never a fan of 5 way switches, much prefer the 3 way switches.

All in all, I'm not quite sure what my take on it is. The chambering sounds cool and finish wise it looks great. I'm still not sure about the upper horn though. The fretboard looks like Ebony to me, which is killer, I much prefer it over Rosewood now. Any word on what the body is made of and whether there is a tone block or anything?

We've come full circle. Remember all the peeps who dissed the lower horn when the BFR was released?

I can't wait to hear it.

We should just call it "BOLERO" and be done with it.

Remember it like it was a long time ago. :D People will always have opinions and everyone is a keyboard warrior.

It's cool and all, not my cup of tea, but if I saw one @ GC, I'd try it out.

I wonder if it's gonna be a BFR? Limited run kind of thing?

People are going to whine about it being different, but they forget it's what JP wants, not what we want.

When it has your signature on the headstock, then you can whine, mmmkay? Until then, be happy BP and JP are giving you ANOTHER awesome guitar to choose from.

***EDIT*** This isn't directed at anyone in particular.
