For the record the biggest uproar in the history was the introduction of the BFR......people were so incensed and its now our biggest seller...Im very happy to be there for John in his progression of guitars.

Very very good effort from the EBMM team again.

I am glad to own a BFR model, and was also very very happy the way EBMM transfers the technology of their R&D/ experimented models into the production of new artiste/standard instruments! In this case, the 25th input to the JPX.

Poppa, I am very happy and you should also be happy with YOURSELF in the progression of all your guitars. ;)

Very nice...I love the chambered body and mahogany tone block. I've gotta think it would would be a tone machine. The colour seems to be one of those that needs to be seen in person.

first when I saw the pictures and no other details from BP I had the same reaction like Crimson Sunrise (towards those Yes man forum colleagues, no ofence :p)

later, when BP posted the specs, I can see it is really a new guitar , not 100 % , but for sure the specs are very different from the previous model, so seems very very cool, in terms of the sound this new configuration can produce :D

PS: the body shape is now very very similar to some of the Ibanez guitars...but like cars, same with guitars...all look very similar, only some slight differences :(

as a few have asked/mentioned. Will there be a 7 string model? I remember being slightly disappointed when the Koa wasnt offered in a 7 string. Once I started playing a 7 string, I couldnt go back to 6's! Of course, a brand new JPX would PROBABLY change my mind! hehehehehe

The only thing im not totally digging at the moment is the black hardware.. other than that it looks superb! and very interesting with the 5-way switching. But hey what JP wants JP gets.. its good to see that JP is still evolving as a player and experimenting with his tools of the trade. :)

I absolutely love it. More of a murder weapon. Understated, yet lethal. Makes choosing a lot harder though....AGAIN. In essence three choices: unfinished maple neck (wich I love), amazing top (wich I love) or chambering (wich I THINK I like). Hope this one will stick around for at least till 2011 when I get my diploma and start making money AGAIN ;)

Very interesting - I deffinitely need to see and play it.

I think that could be even more tonal heaven for many of us Pet lovers.

As for the looks ... For a metal player it should be perfect. For my humble self it's rather another step in the departure from what made the original PET the Music Man version of a "heavy shred" guitar towards what other brands are making (I think many of us notice the similarities in the body design to certain other manufacturers).

Maybe that's even logical that John is bringing his guitar design a bit back to where he started before MM.

So, on the body shape I agree with You, Big Poppa - the original Pet with the scoop rules

Very nice, very nice. I dig the slight variation on the body style. I think chrome hardware would make the color pop a little bit more but that's just me.

Chambered electric guitars always seem to have very intriguing tonal qualities to them, I hope this one will as well.

Thanks for the look, BP!

Very cool addition to the line. Is the fret size change across the board, or just to this JP model? Thanks.

Hey folks.

First post for me here on the forum. ;-)

I live in Luxemburg (Europe) and been a hige Fan of the MMJP guitars. I have 4 standard MMJP.

Though, the new JPX looks realy great. I stard gasing for it. I think it looks better than the regular BFR.
The only thing I might get used to is the 5-way toggle switch. I realy wonder why JP changed his 3-way switch. Over 20 years he's been using them. I'm not quit sure if the handling of the 5-way switch is more "difficult" than the 3-way. He switches pickups alot. I will need to see JP in action with that new Axe before I might consider to buy one. I'm so in love with the standard JP that I'm not sure if I will ever change to a BFR or the JPX.

while I am a little disappointed, I still can buy all the regular or BFR JP's I can get my hands on, it's all good.

I'm sure it will be a huge hit!

I knew a 10th anniversary guitar would come out, i just knew it... I am very excited and I hope I can get my hands on one...

For me the 5 position switch is a MAJOR change and I did not see anyone asking or wondering how would this affect the traditional middle position of the switch in JP's guitars, you know what I am taking about right? JP's guitars in the middle position have a very special crisp tone... I wonder if that has changed

Thanks for the preview BP. I like it. Is the new color a pearl finish? Chambered body, ebony board, black hardware = WIN.

Will the BFR's incorporate the new body design after 2010 or is the new body only going to last for the duration of the 10th anniversary?
