Probably wont see a seven string version .

That sucks for me as a 7 string player, but I understand. JP already has 2 outstanding 7 string guitars. I certainly love my BFRs and I'm certain the Stealth JP7 I have on the way is going to be just as amazing in its own way.

I'm still excited to see one of these up close and personal...and just because there may not be a 7 string it doesn't mean the 6 won't completely blow me away.

I thought I was going to lurk these forums for a while until I get my JP but I feel the urge to post...

Damn you! Now I have too many options... To get the regular JP6/7 (which I have played. Awesome, to say the least, ) or save some more for a BFR 6/7
now a fifth option the JPX... Well I have to wait for the NAMM reports to find out more of this gorgeos axe. I love what you are doing giving us sneak peaks like this! Not a lot of places do that. Thanks a bunch!

Speaking for Koogie2k "Welcome to the addiction" and the forums. Just buy one of each. Problem solved. :D

so is it limited release or standard production?

I don't think it will be in standard production, at least with ebony fretboards as I believe BP said that ebony is hard to work with and this is an anniversary guitar.

This guitar is it for me, I can just imagine how great it will sound with chambers, tone block, ebony fretboard and the selection of woods. The finish is absolutely beatiful, at first I thought it was black (Yeah, I'm blind ), but when I noticed the dark purple color, I thought it gives more personality to the guitar rather than having just black which MANY guitars have (including all of mine). Plus, it gives more MM look to it. Can't wait to get my hands on it. At first I thought about getting a JP BFR, but this changed my mind. :D Good timing as well, as I can afford it in June. Thanks JP and EBMM!

i think that this will be the next production line of the JP guitars. read BP´s first post again.

OK kids here is when all hell breaks loose! We proud to introduce the latest evolution of the John Petrucci line of guitars. This thing is slightly larger and is chambered...it is alive! Its the JPX!
...
...you can still get the scoop on and bfr...we arent taking anything away ...this is just the latest in our collaboration

Yeah, sorry. I wrote that a bit too quickly. Though, I'm pretty sure that they won't come with ebony fretboards later on. But hey, I'm not a MM worker so I don't know. It would be great if they would, even koas have it and it's a standard production guitar. I guess we'll need a confirmation from BP.

Why wouldn't they come with Ebony later on? The Koa BFR's have been standard production models for a while and have Ebony boards, as well as the stealth models that now have Ebony boards.
