LOL, I always have some form of GAS and like i said earlier back on the fence on this one, will be going to give it another once over tonight or tommorow

I hope Mr Fing isn't like me and suffers more than one type of GAS. I would have more balls by now but pro photography equipment is uber expensive too.

Thank goodness guitars is my only GAS hobby, well except for GAS grilling
Could not afford another hobby that consumes my expendible income

A BP smoker is or can be gas fired, check it out, I also use conventional grillls with charcoal and true wood smokers, do a search, the fingbeagle can cook, ask our freind Bovinehost, I make a mean buffalo brisket among many other things, want a recipe for smoked cornish game hens

With a good setup, and if you know what you are doing (which does take some time), a double-looking Floyd is ridiculously stable in tuning. Most of my guitars don't even need a touch on the fine tuners when I take them out of their case after a week or more of neglect.

Floyds can be a pain, sure, and serious trouble if you are new to them. But that's when they are floating, meaning you can do pull-ups as well.

The Axis is however designed to sit flush with the body, so you can only dive in its original setup. That is the easiest Floyd system out there. You seriously can't mess that one up. String change is easy, too (and if you string through the tuners first, you don't have to clip off the ball/loop with some brand strings, plus it makes for a cool visual gimmick ). You don't even need to do all the trem-blocking stunts normally required to properly re-string a Floyd with an Axis in non-float mode.

Also - having the Axis' Floyd shim plate sit on the body adds sustain. I love it.

The only slight bummer - as the Floyd sits on the body, you can't lower it any further to decrease your string action further than dictated by a straightened neck. The saddles can't be lowered individually, as on the EBMM vintage trem or hardtail bridge. You'll need to put shims in the neck pocket if you can't get low enough action for your taste.

fing - Why is this guitar different from any other you've been interested in? Just buy it and if you don't like it, sell it. Personally, I doubt you'll love dealing with a floyd, but you won't know for sure unless you get it and try it for awhile. Why wonder "what if" if you can do something about it by buying it?
