This one must go back I'm afraid. In addition to the neck trouble, the bridge coil is open, so no humbucking goodness...:(

Good luck if you decide to take that route. If I could get it for 200-400, we wouldn't be having any back and forth on this one.:D If you can get a replacement neck, and have the pickup repaired or rewound for a little less than a grand, then please do me the favor of introducing me to your repairman....

Oh, and one more thing. In over 30 years of playing and collecting, this bass and HSC have the most toxic case of mold & mildew disease I've ever been near. I have a mild mold allergy and I had to drive this bass to the GC with ALL of my windows down in 20 degree temperatures....

i dont know how much it'd probobly cost, come to think of it seeing as the bass seemingly gets more horrifying with every post you make lol. but i do know a really good luthier who might be able to pull it off.

and how much was it?

Looks like the Totowa GC didn't want it back either. It's now at the Villa Park, Ill GC. Still the same price. I wonder how they would describe it.
Best idea is to just order a new Custom Classic! :)

We'll see. I really like that store, and the people who work there.

The upshot of this whole deal for me is this; We got to check out a nice piece of history. Gav got another set of vintage stats for his excellent database.

And it really drives home for me just how amazingly cool and classic the Classic Stingray is.

I don't need a vintage 'Ray. I do need a Classic Stingray...

If you have the inclination and the cash, I think there are master repair guys that can fix the twist in the neck and relay a truss rod.
