Hey Guys,
I'm totally new here and just picked up a stunning 25th Anniversary EBMM. Had 2 to choose from. One that was in store with a flametop, birdseye maple neck and a rosewood fretboard but I actually had them special order me a quilttop, full maple neck and maple fretboard.
Picked up the guitar last night and it indeed was stunning. Played it at home and it is everything everyone says it is. Light, tonal, comfortable, and almost plays itself. Only thing I noticed is that my neck is actually a very pretty flamed maple but not the birdseye I had seen in store and heard so much about.
I have no plans to return it as we have bonded
but any clue what percentage of 25ths got birdseye vs. other type necks? I'm sure other models (Steve Morse, etc.) also experience this but just wondering why the change?
