Now excuse me while I open the box, close my eyes and take a whiff.

As of this writing I have to wait four and a half hours for her to come home. I'm going to try to fall back asleep with my arm draped over the case. FEEL THE LOVE!

The Bad: My wife says things like, "Oh, another bass, that's nice" and "I thought you already had one of those" and so on.

The Good: When the box comes, I open it.

My wife only needs to see a box or bag from any of the music stores here and she does this cute Marge Simpson sound. :D

Looks like I will here is again when my RH450 arrives in a few days ;)

Unfortunately I can only post the dealer pics; I am unable to post pics from my digital camera.

BZZZT! Unacceptable!

Can you get the pics off your camera and onto your computer? And if you can't, what the heck good is the camera?

Try Photobucket. Free and highly effective. You can occupy yourself waiting for the mrs. by going there and setting up an account.

Or you can email me the pics and I'll post them for you (after a suitable period of taunting the other knuckleheads, of course).

Here's the best I can do.

Imagine how I feel right now, it's been here for two hours and I still haven't seen it with the naked eye. I've only seen what you have seen: pictures!

You know, since we are all having to wait on Mrs. sitonmybass to get home, you will now have to post a picture of her unpacking it! ;)

The case has already been removed from the box and I snapped a few pics (without looking at it) to confirm that what I ordered is actually in the case. I guess it hasn't quite "hit" me that I have a Big Al 5 single H yet. The pics showed a very deep, rich yummy red...wrapped in plastic!

When Mrs.sitonmybass gets home, she's going to start her own thread about it.

No, I'm not going to start my own thread....But enough about me, let's talk about that new bass!!

I couldn't leave school soon enough. There are probably skid marks in the elementary school parking lot. I rushed through the door screaming, "Where is it?!" When Nick opened the case, we both looked down upon the bass, wrapped in a plastic bass baggie. "Get it out of there!" I screamed. "It's suffocating!" As he pulled back the baggie from the headstock, our heads just inches from the bass itself, we both giggled. It is gorgeous. The red is a deep, dark, liquid red; in certain lighting, it has tiny sparkles. Nick tossed the baggie asside and assumed the bass playing position. :D He played a few licks, smiled and said, "It's even in tune!" I am circling him as he plays to look at the bass from every angle. This is one hot, sleek, sexy bass. He plugged in......whoa, Bessie. What a BASS! It growls. It sings. As a non-bass player, I really don't have the words, but WOW!

This bass does not exist without pictures of it in its new home. Dealer photos do not count.

Sorry, but dem's the rules.

So until such photos are forthcoming, it's all just smoke and mirrors.

Admittedly, really great sounding smoke and mirrors, but smoke and mirrors nonetheless. :D

Every time I see a Big Al, I think of The Jetsons.

Not in a bad way of course.

Last night, our ex-bandmate Robby Steinhardt* (violin, vocals) from the band "Kansas" sat in with us. I was playing my new Big Al 5 single H and in the middle of a song Robby said something to me about my "Jetsons" bass!

Everybody thinks of "The Jetsons" when they see the Big Al. This cracks me up!

*Robby was a full-time member of our band from 1990-1996 after leaving the band "Kansas." Our band's history is on the web-sites listed in my signature.

The songs that we played on stage with him last night were: "Carry On Wayward Son," "Point of Know Return," and "Backseat Love Affair" which is a song from our first album that was recorded with him.

My "Jetsons" bass sounded great! :D

You sure have a fertile imagination as manifested in these fanciful stories you post about a fictional bass.

That's one of the reasons I married her. Oh, you mean the bass...

They're both beauties.

Glad you enjoyed reading about our first experience with it.

I've had 2 trophy wives and I finally figured it out at 51, DON'T MARRY A HOT CHICK. The maintenance is too high, plus it's always, Oh you needed one more Bass.
