Lou, if you were to fly 4800 miles and then buy 3 guitars in one day I would happily take a picture with you, and even buy you lunch! And don't feel bad, neither you nor Thiago are my type. 21 more days.....

*ahem* What's that? Did you say THREE guitars in ONE day? OMGOMGOMGOMG!

Thiago is super loaded in gear haha

Actually I only ordered 2 JPX-7s, but somehow wound up getting 3. With the wonder that is UPS the extra JPX-7 has arrived before yours and Brad's, the both of which I am expecting to arrive today or Monday. Thiago didn't take the JPX, as neither of us expected it to be at the store yesterday morning. I have a few other photos that I will upload later on today, as time permits.

The new Bad Salad songs are full of incredible riffs and extremely intricate parts, they flat out rip.

PS Paul, that's not Nick in the pic with Thiago, he was holding the camera!

Hey. It's all good. If Thiago wanted mine and you had another one coming in within a couple days, I'd let him take it. Long way to South America from here...

So you just have a random JPX7 lying around? Did you get a chance to play it?

Even though that sweet Desert Gold JP6 was going to be my next ball, I'm glad that a great guy got it! I can't wait to see youtube videos of Thiago playing it. That was a great score Thiago, congrats bro!

I'm offended. No one offered to take pics when I came in to pick up my guitar. Of course, I'm not as good looking.

At least you don't a pic from Dubaldo's where Petrucci himself made this "confused at a lefty handed JP" face! :D

Yep, a random JPX7 is now looking for a good home. Would you like to buy a back-up? No I haven't played it yet, but Thiago sure did. I was surprised when UPS dropped off the box, and Thiago and I immediately opened it. Thiago was nice enough to say that the tuning stability sucks <insert rolleyes> - the guitar traveled across the USA and all it needed was the high B to be tuned about 5 cents. The action, truss, and overall construction were perfect right out of the box.

Yours is in, and scheduled for the bench early Monday morning!

The guitars were all used and he got a great price!

Sorry if my comment was misunderstood, I'm sure about the great price since you and I have emailed several quotes (thanks again!) I just havent had the right opportunity to pull the trigger.

What I really meant is that owning 3 balls in a single day must be an incredible feeling! :)

PS This thread doesn't help at all when I'm still deciding what should I get next. :D

Thiago came up and cleaned us out! A few JPs and one Morse later, he was feelin pretty good while testing out a JPX-7.

He played some Bad Salad songs off the upcoming album, and then we went and had a great lunch at a local joint.

Is it just me, or does the guy on the left look a lot like John Petrucci if he wasn't so buff?

Jeez guys - sucking up to DuBaldo won't get him to ship you free guitars.
Ha Ha - seems like a lot of man crushing going on. When I look at the photo I just see awesome guitars, did not know there were guys in the pic till it was explicitly called out - I just thought they were stands.

Hey guys.

I had a great time up there with Pete and Nick!
Always a pleasure to ride those 4800 miles to meet friends and play nice instruments.

I was lucky the JPX-7 had just arrived when I got there.
It's an awesome instrument. Played amazing right out of the box, almost perfectly in tune still. The back of the neck is painted just like on the BFRs but for some reason this one felt better to me. Maybe it just seems right on a 7, I don't know.

Unfortunately I didn't take it home, so it's up for grabs to one of you lucky guys.

Tomorrow I'm back to writing music with Bad Salad, and I'm bringing the new guitars to inspire the sessions even more. Pete had a taste of some of the songs, I hope the riffs made sense since they were out of context without the rest of the music. :) I look forward to sharing it with all of you later on this year.
