Just be careful they aren't tearing up the sides of the body on the guitar (namely the one on the bottom). The little snap buckle did a number on the edge of my old RG7620. That's why I used the super locks now!!

I've heard of that happening from a few people, but I've never experienced it on my EBMMs. I'll keep an eye out, but so far so good on my Amethyst BFR 7...and it's the oldest of my EBMMs.

Man, they are so gorgeous. I'm trying desperately to avoid picking up the phone to call Pete...LOL

Congrats! Beautiful guitar!

Awesome looking beast there. I'm with Headstock, I'd be nervous putting in a strap lock, but it looks like you've had no problems.

Awesome and congrats. How different is it from your AB BFR 7? I have a BFR7 but not sure if the JPX 7 is different enough to warrant another guitar. Also, is the body bigger than the 6 string JPX or is it the same body with just a wider neck?

Nice guitar man. :D

It's very close to the BFR. The feel is nearly identical with only minor differences due to the larger frets. As far as the tone I would say it has a bit more balls to it but otherwise very close. The resonance is an added bonus as well.

"...a bit more balls..." cool! All the reason to justify a new guitar.;) Do you think that some of that is attributed to the new pickups? My BFR has the DSonic generation pickups and from what I've read, it seems the new pickups are hotter, thus maybe ballsier??!! I like the Dsonic, but am intrigued by what people are writing about the new pickups. Enjoy that baby!

Another nice addition, bkrumme!

When you have more time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the JP7 vs. BFR JP7 vs. JPX7.

Had the same cliplock on my SS for going on a decade now with no marks to speak of. Getting to be 2 or 3 years on the JP with similar results.

It does have a bit to do with the new pickups, but I made my comparison based on the new pickups being in both guitars.

They are all amazing guitars. To be honest, though, I'm still in the honeymoon period with the JPX and JPX 7. Let me give it a few weeks and I'll write up my opinion.
