My Little Mark II has served me well over the past few years and it will have a new co-worker in the form of a little Mesa later this week.

In general, I'd say that I like the way that the whole bass amplification industry has moved (at least in part) towards providing good, light and smaller equipment. For most of us weekend warriors, there's no need for an 8x10 stack (or even a 4x10) and we're getting older and weaker! ;)

As far as I can tell, it was MarkBass that started it all with any reasonable amount of success with the Little Mark II before the others jumped on the bandwagon.

Gotta love BP and Marco, two innovators pushing the bass envelope. Some of the others are seemingly content in just tweaking 30 year old products.

You'd think that big massive thing would be what I prefer.

Prefer not to have to carry.

Oh, you know that's true, too! Our guitar player has this Vox combo and I admit it, it's a beast. So he and the other guitar player would always team up to lug it in and out of venues, leaving me to hoist that Sunn head. Hey, I'm the bassist, it's mine, I don't complain. Then one day, one of them picked it up. Should have seen their eyes opened about weight.

I understand weight LOL I load in and out a Peavey. I think the swamp water soaked it so good it will never be easy for two people to carry.

I want a markbass head. LOL.

Couple of other things I want too. I won't get into that here LOL.

I got a Markbass Super Synth pedal today. Forget everything you know about bass synths. This thing is PHAT, tracks flawlessly and can do more than 70's funk sounds.

How long has Mark Bass been around for? When I finally returned back to a Guitar Center this past year, that was my first time ever seeing one. I still have not played one yet but am looking at upgrading my head and cab pretty soon and would like more info on them. Originally I was going to go with Ampeg but ruled them out due to quality issues. Mesa Boogie I am currently looking at now and like but I would like to know more about Mark Bass cabs.

Brand has been in the US since 2006, has really taken off in the past 3-4 years, with wider GC distribution contributing to that. As you may have guessed, lots of discussion by MB fanatics over at TB, such as this link:

That pedal is just sick, especially the possibility to programm your own sounds on your PC.

By chance, has anyone tried the little mark tube 800 yet? I am pretty much down to this or an m6 carbine.

the fact that our hosts have selflessly allowed this thread to roll on is proof of the massive amount of love for all things marco. think about it, we are on sterlings bandwidth dime talking about another companies product. that speaks volumes even if lord boingo's next post is "ok....far enough, back on ebmm topic biotches". i dont think ive ever seen another thread like it. this truth, combined with king of lefthanzias divine judgement seals the deal. if it looks like a bumble bee, and says made in italy, it is good.

I love it. I really love it that Marco got a leg up from BP, that Guitar Center carries some superb amps/cabs and that people are buying and using the gear.

Italian bass gear! Who knew?

I set up the gc mark bass deal. IT has worked well for both parties. (no compensation just a favor to marco)

You're a decent guy BP. I recall you buying me some drinks.
I still gotta sluff that heavy old Peavey since it don't die.

I want a Markbass enough that if they were common place here. I would beat someone up and take theirs.

LOL

only half kidding.
