Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I think that you deserve it Andy. Man, it's hard being a lefty guitar player in a righty guitar making world. I really hope you get it bro!

No they don't! They just blew it when they first started learning! ;)

I'm predominantly lefty (about 60/40 ambidextrous), and when I started learning guitar 15 years ago, my old man (also a player, also a lefty) told me

"Son, if you want to learn to play, I'm gonna show you how to play righty. Nobody makes a good left-handed guitar."

Crazy that that is still so true 90% of the time...

Much as I hate to argue with a parent, the following companies make excellent Lefty guitars

EBMM, Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Martin, Epiphone, Fylde, G&L,Eastwood,DiPinto & PRS (when they feel like it)...and that's just the ones I have. I agree I woud have done better to learn backwards (WHY does some-one always feel obliged to suggest this?????) but it's too late now!

I live in hope.

Andy, you were all over the Albert few month ago :)

But a gold reflex do rules ;)[/QU

Indeed I was, and my offer to buy a Lefty AL still stands and will only expire on my death.....but I have no wish to bore people further on that topic.

Mr Ball has now spoken....and a definite "Hmmmmmmmmm" beats a "No".

Market conditions are no doubt against me....but we live in hope!

I can always continue thinking about a Sterling Silver ASS MM90....which IS available to me.

Andy, glad to see you’re staying positive. Its good to have dreams & goals.
Only to have them stepped on and crushed like a bug later on in life. Or maybe thats just me.

Anyway, good luck with that. :)

As for "hopes & dreams"....well, it's just a guitar & you can't have everything in life......maybe one day!

Exactly this.

I'm pretty much the same ratio of ambidextrous, but I lean towards my left. My first teacher was good enough to say exactly what your dad said.

To me, the benefit of playing guitar is that you can go over to your mates house and just sit around jamming....you can pick up any guitar anywhere and just play. If you play lefty, there's no chance you can do that.

I like to think (probably incorrectly) that having my mostly-dominant hand doing the fretting gives me some intangible advantage - or at least goes a ways toward lending me an unconventional feel to my playing. For instance, learning to use my pinkie finger was never an issue - it's always been as dexterous on the strings as the rest were at any given time.

Not to say "look at me, I'm so great," (I'm not) but I'll gladly take any advantage I can get. :)

Sterling is hard to read Andy so that hmmmmmm could go either way. I think you should ask for a Reflex and the AL, as you will more than likely only get one shot. Take aim and make it a good one.lol
