What a shame we had so much rain:(

The amount of work that has gone on over the years in preparation for the Ryder Cup has been incredible. The shame is that the the UK (not just Wales) has had torrential rainfall today!! - still the forecast for tomorrow is better

Sir terry Mathews has personally invested over £16 million in building the new Twenty Ten course and clubhouse, and that doesn't take into account the money invested by the Welsh authorities in the infrastructure. His mantra was ... Drainage drainage drainage and to be honest the course has coped very well with the terrible rain we had today, as a result.

Shame it wasn't held last week when the weather was perfect and just to rub it in, this time last year it was so dry that they had to vigorously water the course.

Colleagues in work have reported sighting the likes of Brad Pitt, Samuel L Jackson, Jordan and George Clooney. - Hope they had umbrellas with them.

So it's all go for the next couple of days - "Come on Europe"!! - come on 8loody Welsh weather !!

The Ryder Cup is one of the great sporting events of our time and my personal favourite. That I'll be back at work tomorrow and won't be able to watch the singles matches has me gutted! That said, the nine hours of coverage I watched yesterday was a joy from start to finish. No matter who wins or loses, I can't thank the teams enough for such fantastic play and exciting competition.

Having said that, GO EUROPE!!!

Ok, so who decided to hold the Ryder Cup in October....in the UK......in Wales....in the Valleys?

Bloody hell......it's p***ing down......there's a surprise!!!

That said, great golf. I have no chance of getting any work done tomorrow.

PS - Joking aside, the TV and Radio stations have been waxing lyrical about the warmth and generosity of their Welsh hosts, something I can personally vouch for. Fantastic place and people.....just wet!!

Uhh I think another "little" money paying tournament got in the way and put it (Ryder Cup) back a week or two:rolleyes:

Well it's not that it was just South Wales that caught in the downnpour it's been raining a lot in the whole of the UK. The ground staff did remarkable to get not just the fairways clear I can't remember seeing a drop shot for standing water today, but also the pedestrian walkways. At one time because of H & S issues they even mentioned playing behind closed doors  It was a great afternoons play to watch. Corey Pavin was a true gentleman with his comments.
I just talked to a buddy who was there today and he said the atmosphere was fantastic - and thanks for the accolade re the Welsh hospitality - we always try to keep a welcome in the Hillside.
Weather forecast for tomorrow is good so we should see a great finish to this event.

Wow... what a final day...

Hats off to the EU boys -- great play.

We had a heck of a rally, but Mahan couldn't handle the heat...

Wow guys 14 1/2 - 13 1/2 Jeez it was nail-biting stuff!!

After the early morning mist lifted and the sun came out the course looked magnificent - a lovely sunny warm day gave a great boost to the tournament and showed Wales in all it's finery.

I'm just 12 miles away and couldn't make it - sure wished that I was able.

Congrats to two great teams for putting on a great show of their abilities.
