The larger baseplate on the trem is also shifted towards the bottom of the guitar. The six strings don't tend to have a problem, and my JPX7 doesn't have it, but its the first 7 string I've had yet that doesn't have the problem... because of intonating a guitar where the higher strings need to be shorter, the saddle would hit the trem pole when you use the trem. This shift makes it to where the problem is virtually impossible as you'd never have the low e string saddle moved that far out. I.e. the pole has to be in front of a saddle, so it's more efficient to have it in front of the top one instead of the bottom one.

OMG, I managed to care not about BFR and JPX, being very pleased by my old JP...
But this one is a killing machine, probably the one I've ever dreamed about !

I wonder how the onyx finish is in hands :)
It's sad he dropped the purple color

I didn't get the email to turn on the JPXI page till 3:27pm & u posted @ 3:26pm

Superluminal motion of the mouse :)

To be honest, I followed the link from the main instrument page.

Saw the JPXI was nestled nicely in there.

I do like to see the return of the toggle.

How are people referring to it? "JP Ex-eye", or "JP Eleven"?

Ohhh! And here I thought it meant JPX 1 (like JPX was the proto and this is the 1 real JPX and then there would be JPX 2 and 3) :p

Ok if he's using hybrid slinkys what's the 7th string gauge .... I wasn't aware there was a hybrid seven string set. ..... maybe new at namm this year???

It's a 56. On the product page (for the guitar) they're listed as custom slinky's, so my guess is you can't buy them like that in a set.

Very intriguing!

I guess, John has set himself a plan to modify the pet at least once a a year.

I wonder if we would get something like JPXI.2 and JPXI.3 later this year?

Or maybe "JPXI reloaded" (or "revolution", for that matter) :).
