The larger baseplate on the trem is also shifted towards the bottom of the guitar. The six strings don't tend to have a problem, and my JPX7 doesn't have it, but its the first 7 string I've had yet that doesn't have the problem... because of intonating a guitar where the higher strings need to be shorter, the saddle would hit the trem pole when you use the trem. This shift makes it to where the problem is virtually impossible as you'd never have the low e string saddle moved that far out. I.e. the pole has to be in front of a saddle, so it's more efficient to have it in front of the top one instead of the bottom one.
