I think the bottom line here is that there are a zillion quality delays in the market right now. If you're just looking for a decent delay, you'll probably be good with just about anything.
I used to own an MXR Carbon Copy and thought it was great, especially for the price. I used a POD X3 now so I sold all my pedals. Had to cause I moved to Europe, everything went. Amp, pedals, and almost all my guitars. Now I am left with 1 guitar....my MM Axis. Anyways, I would check out Andy's demo's at Pro Guitar Shop on Youtube, he's got great stuff on there and lets you really hear how the pedal sounds like. Thats what I used to do when I was looking for pedals, never failed me. I don't try pedals in the store, different guitar, different amp, different surroundings. With 30 days to return, I just buy it and if I like it I keep it, if not I'll return it.
