Sell your EVH for a deposit on an axis?? I actually considered that for about a day until finally coming to my senses :) I realized that would be a little like selling a '59 Les Paul to fund the purchase of a custom historic '59 reissue...I'll stick with the original for now :)

You're exactly right. Thats pretty much the main reason I didn't go ahead. I've been searching for a green for almost 6 months now so I was awestruck by the color when i saw the pics. glad i didn't do it though, eventually a green will pop up somewhere

Hi All,

I'm a newb here, this my first post. Im an old guy and a longtime player. Short Story:

A childhood friend that I introduced to guitar about 25 years ago recently reconnected with me on FB. He sent me a heartfelt message saying how thrilled he was to find me (Ive since left Canada), and how greatful he was to me for letting him play my guitar waaay back then, and teaching him one of those dreaded first guitar songs, as he quickly developed a passion for guitar and was soon a dedicated and skillful player. Far exceeding my accomplishments (imho), and still filling up local establishments on weekends with his band to this day.

After a hiatus to raise children, I resumed playing, built a basement studio, and fell in love with and own three of hartleys collaboration with the unnamed ones offerings, among others (about 12 not including basses). I have played and/or owned all the big name fiddles of my day, but have never even played an ebmm. I had an interest in the ebmm evh, but could never find one that wasnt in the stratisphere pricewise.

Monday night I recieved a message from aformentioned friend, telling me about the tribute, and the fact that if I wanted one that I'd better act fast. He already nailed down a pink quilt, and I was thrilled at the thought of finally having the opportunity to own one of these axes by getting in on this offering.

I called the closest GC in Grand Rapids, Mi., and John not only knew what I was talking about, but he said "gimme 5 minutes or so, let me make a call to EB and the distribution center, and I'll see what I can do". A few minutes later I laid down some dead presidents on a trans purple quilt.

The same friend sent me a link to this thread yesterday...and let me tell you it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster reading it from start to finish. That being said, I am so stoked to get my hands on one of these babys...and Neale (jackson 2112) my brother, debt paid in full.

I look forward to my new axe and hanging around here getting to know you guys.

Peace,

Dobb.

thanks, I actually got to hand pick this one from the factory. My friend Richard was a MM dealer and knew Ernie and Sterling very well. That is one reason that I really can't see myself letting this one go.

So you don't want me to use my new camera and take better photos of it? I do have some family photos with the Green Axis, Green Sport and the Green EVH... haha

Dobb, welcome!
Purple was a good choice. Actually, all of these seem to be pretty awesome.

It is a weird bunch here, but we all get along. LOL
