Not available in this package, it still only comes in Henry Ford's favorite color (black)

Probably still only available on the Reflex too. That's ok because it would temp me to not order a Bongo. Hopefully, the price won't be too high and the deposit will be reasonable (it is April - tax season afterall).

I have an old Black Eagle. Its mahogany and it has contributed substantially to my physios wallet....but you're right, how can you resist??

Mahogany is one of those woods that can be light or can be extremely heavy. I have a bass that is mahogany that I had built in the mid 80's and it's one of the lightest basses I own. So, it all depends.

I'm still trying to imagine what a mahogany honey burst bongo would look like.

Like BP said , my BA5 SSS is ten bls. which was the same as the Bongo I had.

Is there much tone difference from the basswood used on regular Bongos?

Using the BA in passive as an example I would say it just as one would expect the Hog will present a warmer, deeper tone when set flat on the Bongo.

Is there an ordering window on this (other than 2012 as stated in the flyer)?

From the opening post.

Premier Dealers will be able to place orders throughout the month of April 2012.

My question:
It may be too early to tell, but is there an estimated build completion on these orders?

Maybe something like this - but perhaps less red.

Yes...that picture was posted a while back with plenty of "I'd buy that in a second" statements.

Rethinking a Bongo 6 myself

You and me, both. Although, the new Dargie 5SHp Bongo and my proclamation of, "I'm done buying basses until next year for my 40th birthday" might have me backed into a corner. :-/

If it's a BONGO, it's everything this forum has been howling for.

Bongo with a clear finish
Non Painted Neck
Roasted
Light and tasty
Limited

I gotta say, that we've gotten pretty much EVERYTHING we've asked here on the forum from EBMM... Incredible. I love it here.
