These look awesome, but I need clarification regarding the neck. The announcement flyer posted in post #1 of this thread says that the necks are "Figured roasted maple necks with gunstock oil and hand rubbed special wax blend finish". So am I correct in my understanding that these necks have a "satin" finish even though the necks have been roasted?

TD

Definitely satin, no gloss on this one. Same finish process as a production model.

Just to clarify: the hand-rubbed oil and wax treatment that EB gives their necks is not the same as a satin finish. The feel of the neck will be identical to a standard new production StingRay, Sterling, Axis guitar, etc. where you get the feel of finely sanded and buffed wood.

Pete,
Does that $400 include the matching headstock ($200) and honeyburst finish ($100) or is that $400 upcharge on top of everything?

The upcharge is $400 to list for the PDN option and that gets you everything listed in the package: Honey Burst finish; mahogany body; roasted maple neck; pao ferro board; SS frets; matching headstock; black pickguard etc

If you opt for a piezo model or multi-pickup model then that will have a different base price to which you add the above option.

Yeah, what he said. With my Dargie in the house, another non-EB bass (put away the pitchforks--when EB starts making shortscale hollowbody basses, I'll sell this one and replace it), a new amp, a new cab, and getting a dead Ampeg B-15 running...my gear budget for the year is shot. :-/

Is there going to be any way for overseas (uk) people to order? A hog bongo would be dream come true!

Matt... havent seen you in a while.... Will you be excluding these fine stainless steel frets from your order?

We moved back to Florida! :). Been busy getting settled in.

I have an innate compulsion to order special run basses without frets... But still don't know yet. :) I'd like to pick a bass up again, and this seems like a great opportunity to do so.

Bongo 4HH?
Stingray 4HH SLO Special, maybe fretless?

It seems like it'd be a crying shame not to go the Bongo route on this.... But then again a blank plank 4HH Ray with SLO neck wouldn't suck either....

Hog Bongo in honeyburst.....these are exciting times, people.

Well, if you look at my list of Bongos below you don't have to be a genius to figure out what the next one is going to be .....

And Jack, I promise I will try as hard as I can to keep this one from getting sent to your house by mistake, like last time .... :D ;)

UPDATE to this post... My single H Roasted/Black Sugar Bongo sold in under 24 hours (thanks Bob!). My order for a Single H PDN special Bongo will be placed with Beaver later in the week. Haven't decided if i am going with a 4 or 5 yet. I am thinking a 5er since i haven't owned on in a while. Can't wait to check out the Mahog Bongo and new tuners. JOSH

I'm pleased to enable your Bongo PDN gas Josh. 4H Bongo + gloss finished neck is just what I've been looking for.
