Well - for me the most essential would be
1. Tuner
2. Delay
3. Distortion (#3 because my amps have great gain channels)...

I essentially gig with two pedal boards - a pedaltrain 2 and pedaltrain mini, which are separated by a mic-stand leg. The mini has my wireless receiver, an EB Wah and a Rocktron Banshee Talkbox. The main board has a Korg Pitchblack Tuner - Xotic BB Preamp (for low gain settings & clean boost) - MI Audio Blues Pro - Wampler Pinnacle - RetroSonic Phaser - Hardwire Chrous. Then I have a Hall of Fame Reverb & Boss DD20 that I run thru the loop on the amp...

For me, tuner is a pedal but isn't. I like the tuners that clip on the headstock anyhow . . .
1. Vibe (I'm digging my Jetter Vibe at the moment)
2. Lovepedal Les Lius, 'cause I dig tweed overdrive.
3. Chorus, Malekko Omicron at the moment.

This is what I'm attempting to complete. The boost might change to something else, maybe the Xotic EP Booster. They didnt have that one on the Pedaltrain planning list of pedals.

Of course the back row will be in the loop except for the Riot.

So Mike, the Pinnacle kicked off the Riot from your board? I'm definitely getting one since I really like the looser feel of it. However I think I will keep the Riot as well for the tighter crunchy heavy stuff...when I kick on the BB with the Riot it's just insane...a little noisy but sounds menacing.

I am another fan of the Flashback Delay. However, I must say I dig the TC Electronics Corona Chorus pedal even more. It's ALWAYS on.

As far as other pedals go, I have really fallen in love with the MXR 90 Phase pedal. It's great for adding a trippy sound, especially when you combine it with the Wah pedal!

For me, it's OD and Delay, but primarily delay!

Used to have a Flashback but have changed it on for a Strymon TimeLine. Best sound I've ever heard from any delay unit in my entire life! Here's a little pic of my board

181859_10150786652284397_653689396_9284002_866024824_n.jpg

Signal goes
Wylde Wah > TU2 > Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone LTD > GMD Luther Drive > SD-1 > EB VPJR > Amp > Loop - Timeline > Feedback Loop of the Strymon > Vortex Flanger > Amp

Can also use the strymon to change channels of my JVM via MIDI :)

Just sold my Wampler Pinnacle since I got the EVH 5150III 50watt

Been mainly running it with:
Phase 90
Xotic EP Boost
TC Nova Repeater
TC Hall of Fame Reverb

If I'm in front of my Fender Princeton
Hardwire DL8 Delay
BYOC Overdrive 2 Mosfet
Orange Squeeze Compressor or MXR Custom Comp

This is my pedalboard, Everything i'll ever need:

BB Preamp
RC Booster
Mini amp Gizmo
G System
2 Exp pedals. 1 for wah, 1 for Vol.

It's all wired up so I can just plug into the sides of the board using 4CM.

This thread inspired me to mix things up on my pedalboard, rewire it and swap out some pedals. So here it is as of tonight...probably will stay like this for a few months until I hanker for my fulldrive again!

Polytune

I went from having a lot of pedals, then the AxeFx Ultra, then back to a lot of pedals, and now these. The Polytune is really all that I use these days as I'm starting to prefer a dry sound and working my guitar's volume knob. I love my amp!

I agree with the Corona Chorus! I absolutely love mine! I just need to get my Pedal Power 2+ as these TC pedals eat batteries for breakfast. I pretty much always have it turned on, on my clean channel and sounds wicked on the distortion also. Right now I have it on the Tri-chorus setting with Speed 11 o'clock, Depth at 3 o'clock, and Tone about 2. Check that out if you havent already :).

Nice board there! Where do you have that EP booster placed? At the end of the chain?

Thanks Roub! Yeah I have the EP at the very end. Generally you hear the base tonal characteristics of the last (engaged) pedal in your chain the most so because I leave it on all the time simply to add "tone" I've stuck it at the end of the chain.

It was this video that showed me the difference of an EP booster before and after an overdrive, I just took it to the extreme!

Thanks for the comments Scooby.... I'm pretty happy with the selection on here right now, although it's taken a lot of iterations to get there! After setting my main board up I then went on to put the "leftovers" on my mini gig board... this combination sounds great, forgot how well the Fulldrive works with the boost channel of the Box of Rock.
