I'll say that you should try them all, as they are all great guitars. The SSS was my first (simply wonderful) and the HH is one of my favorite HH guitars.

I am planning a trip to Knighton Guitars Spud sometime late September with a bit of luck. Just got to wait for our fortunes to turn a little more and then I can pull on an Al. Looking forward to joining the famous ALOC.

That's great news Paul - I look forward to seeing some clips of you putting it thro it's paces. Do you plan to go to the shop midweek or on a weekend?

I am flexible so don't mind. In some respects it may be best to go during the week to avoid busy Saturday traffic but it's best to decide nearer the time. I'll PM you and let you know.

Shame Knighton don't have many SSS Al's at the moment, but I'm happy to place an order if need be.

Good to hear from you Spud!

Hey Spud

Quick question on the Al.

I note that it is strung with 10's except for a 16 on the 3rd string. Can you buy sets of strings with this combination or does this mean combining slinky 10's with a purchase of an extra 3rd string?

You can still put a regular 10's set on it, no problem.

But I like it with the 16 instead of a 17, so I usually buy a couple of 16 single strings extra and throw the 17s away
Albert himself told in an interview that he has now even changed to 15s instead of the 16.

I will be rejoining the ALOC again when my AL SSS comes in next week. I did stop by GC in San Bernardino and their EBMM stock was just about nonexistent; but they did have an Al HH in gold and that was awesome!

Hi Paul - Sorry for the delay.
Mine came from the factory with RPS strings on it.

Albert gave me a set of strings before his gig in Cardiff.
I have the (empty) packets here RPS 10 13 16 26 36 46

I'm using Super Slinkies on mine at the mo.

Was just wondering - maybe if K Guitars don't have an SSS _ I could drive up and meet you at the shop with mine? - just a thought?

Hey Spud

I would really like that and thank you for your kind offer. I know KM are showing as having a sunburst model signed by AL on the front. Very nice but not my colour. EBMM UK website is under construction at the moment so I can't check what they have in stock and I'm not going to bother those great guys with a call.

I have to wait for my ship to come in first before I can move on this Spud, so I'm not going to waste anyones time until it does. I can't believe I've been ball-less for so long. Having to sell my Luke was like losing a friend, especially as that was the guitar I played at my wedding. But, when times are hard, decisions have to be made.

Looking forward to getting back into the EBMM family again and hopefully this time for good.

I'll be in touch Spud when I am ready to organise a trip.

All the best and thanks again

Paul

No probs Paul. I'm looking for an excuse to visit KM - might even bring OlPlayer with me for the trip.
Cheers

ALOC has great power. And with great power, comes great responsibility.

I have had the AL count as high as 3. Currently sitting at 1. amazingly cool axe. The shape alone is worth the price of admission.
