Anybody know if Ernie Ball would add in the Piezo components to an already 'finished' guitar? Like if I were to bring in my Silhouette, would they add it in?
As far as I know, they won't do anything to the Guitar that wasn't there, when it first left the Factory.
Also the Piezosystem will probably need some additional CNC Routing, + I'm not sure if you could just run the missing Piezo required CNC Programs without ruining the entire Finish.
So I guess the Answer is No.
Maybe this will help, I had EBMM make me a Axis SS when they offered the premium tops back in 2003. Well anyways I waited about 3 to 4 months for my guitar to arrive and the day I got the call that it's in I rushed down to pick it up, I couldn't believe it, somebody made a mistake, they forgot to put the piezo pickup in the guitar. I told the store that I'm not buying the guitar because that's not what I ordered. Music Center sent the guitar back, I had to wait another 3 to 4 months for the guitar, the body was totally new as I took pictures of the first one but the neck was the same. I still enjoy that guitar today.
If you think about it... you're buying a "custom" guitar built to the options that you want. Why not spring the extra few bucks (if you have it) to get the loaded version.
There's nothing worse that forking out that kind of cash and realizing you wished you would've...
All the EBMM guitars are incredible so either way... but if ya want it... get it
It's good to note that the piezo is not an option on every piece... Reflex, super sport,Albert mm90 are some that do have the option.. And I think the JP series already have um..
If you're good at Electronics, you could also add the System yourself.
I'm not entirely sure about it, but i believe that the Piezosystem that EBMM uses is the Fishman Powerbridge System, maybe a proprietary preamp though.

Imo, the preamp MM uses is noticeably better than the Graph Tech one (I'd installed the Ghost system on my Morse). Dunno if it's a Fishman design or proprietary (probably the latter).
